Hey, I just wanted to thank you for this video and ask a quick question, in the exam is it okay to use square brackets like you did in your notes to symbolise concentration? Thank you for the videos :)
Hi there, thanks for the feedback! Glad the video was helpful! Yes, I did use square brackets to represent concentration in my actual exams. However, I actually can’t find anything in AQA’s marking guidance on whether it is OK or not… I think as a general rule if your answer is clear in conveying the correct information then that is absolutely fine - square brackets are used in science to represent concentration and for me using them in exams was never an issue. I also used them in my A level Chemistry exams. But I’d maybe double check with your teacher if they know more about A level Biology marking. Sorry for that rather ambiguous answer but hope that helps to some degree!
Thank youu again! Got homework on this topic and this video answered it perfectly :)
Thanks for the feedback, glad the video helped!!

But no harm being on the safe side and writing out “concentration of…” in order to be completely clear with what you intend to say.
Ah yes, thank you very much! I think I'll just stay on the safe side with that, not really much harm with doing it :)
