1:26 When I first heard "rehash of Walking Small", I thought it would be like rehashing "Spongebob gets tricked to hurt the environment" which was redone in Spongebob's Last Stand and the Endless Summer short.
A lot of these SpongeBob episodes are not rehashes rather tropes and overused character traits that the writers are constantly using as plot devices for the episodes, which does make a episode feel similar with a certain previous episodes. This isn’t new for SpongeBob even the early seasons has episodes that felt similar, like episodes bubble stand” “The paper”, “Idiot box”, and “snowball effect” All have Squidward catching SpongeBob and Patrick doing funny stuff then call it childish or not a big deal, but later realized it’s actually fun and goes crazy, weather it works out for him or not by the end.
SpongeBob was always meant to have a pattern of familiarity to get the kids know the character personalities and their day to day lives. Many cartoons and tv shows have this kind of structure, sometimes if a show runs too long, it can get repetitive. Don’t get me wrong, it’s cool characters have straight forward personalities and don’t change but some character development is important to keep a show fresh. A character still can keep a trade mark personality, at the same time they have more into as a series goes.
I thought one category would be, "Squidward becomes good/happy, but returns to being grouchy." Stuff like "Breath of Fresh Squidward," "Squidville," the one with the bomb pie (as seen in the intro and transitions), the one where the Squidward-like fish moved onto Patrick's lawn in a trailer, "Slide Whistle Stooges." The list keeps going.
The Flower Plot and Shellback Shenanigans in my opinion were the best done Imitation Krabs ripoffs. Especially the Flower Plot. And Fear of a Krabby Patty too
@unkownilululiker47 They all use framing devices, and each use of a framing device, is, in my opinion to try to recapture the original feeling of the Krusty Krab Training Video
@@BradenINSANE so just because the episode uses a framing device its a rehash? like boat smarts i get, its a training video but the others seam a bit far fetched to me, but this is your video and your opinion so i'll respect it
If something is not entirely rehashed, then what's the point of calling an episode "rehashed" if very little to nothing is copied from the original episode to the point the plot line feels too unoriginal? And even if something is "rehashed", usually there would be something new into the story. Hell, EVERY story idea that comes to the writers' mind does get rehashed. And I mean, just because something has been done before doesn't remotely mean you can't try to come up with anything fresh or new to the story.
they need to realize that replicating old episodes wont get you anywhere, maybe trying something new would work and be good. They may not live up to the season 1-3 episodes but they may end up being better than what we're getting.
I don't know I think Selling out s a good Episode Because I feel like it's a really good episode for people who really retire? And I think they do a really good job. Redesigning the krusty krab.
@tfan2016 gotcha but think about it, in every other situation SpongeBob is part of like hunting jellyfish, working at the Krusty Krab, the beach, annoying Squidward, etc there's always some unique twist so that it doesn't feel as repetitive as the Boating School episodes, where you get almost the exact same formula with little to no variation (An eager SpongeBob does whatever he can to get his license to the dismay of an annoyed Mrs Puff which almost certainly ends up in jail)
Have some of your opinions on episodes like "Spin the Bottle" and "Patnocchio" changed since your 2021 Every SpongeBob episode ranked four-part series? Cause I remember those two episodes in particular making the top 100.
Spin the Bottle and Patnocchio are alright episodes that aren't great. There's just not much reason to come back to them when similar stories have been done better in other episodes.
Great video 👍😁 I actually liked spin the bottle and the flower plot but I respect your opinion on those episodes. I have to ask, what did you think of season 14? I thought that season was fantastic.
im shocked they never did a rehash of band geeks and i hope they never do
They know they can’t dethrone the king

I thought he meant "SpongeBob Struggles to Be Assertive"

So happy that you made this video. Someone actually calling the show out for its rehash plots, regardless of what anyone says.

Same
Wet Painters is great, Graveyard Shift too.
The Flower Plot and Shellback Shenanigans in my opinion were the best done Imitation Krabs ripoffs. Especially the Flower Plot.
And Fear of a Krabby Patty too
What's the correlation between karate chops and graveyard shift
how is spongebob vs the patty gadget, no pictures please, and patnocio a krusty krab training video rehash?

Selling Out is a good episode, I just mentioned it because of its similarity to Bossy Boots.
Surprised at the lack of Mrs. Puff´s episodes on this list. How many times should we have to see Spongebob try to get a driver´s license and fail?
i don't think that should be considered a rehash
that would be like calling every episode where plankton tries to steal the secret formula a rehash

Imitation Krabs is way more ripped off than Karate Choppers
Does "screw squidward" count? Because it's kind of a broad and vague story structure, but they did do it A LOT especially in seasons 6-8.
More 10 Intriguing Pieces Of Lost Media videos PLEASE 😁
3:45 I disagree with you that episode specifically that crash test scene made me laugh my lungs out for 5 minutes
Same, I like Boat Smarts too.
"Ow...."
Dam I never knew there where like 7 plankton disguise episodes I thought there where only 4

2:44 That would be Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful. SpongeBob You're Fired is 1 of the best season 9 episodes.
What are your thoughts on Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks movie?
I haven't seen it so I have no thoughts

I think shellback shenanigans is better than imitation krabs
I'd like to see a rehash of Squid's Visit.
Band Geeks > Krusty Krab Training Video 3:23
Fun and walking small is the same thing
No Pictures Please is a good episode. 4:07
What
It isn't.
All rehashes are bad in so many ways.
Not all rehashes are bad and some of them can be a lot better than the original in certain ways
👍
I don't care if this is some kind of sacrilege, but Bossy Boots did the format worst. Change my mind. Or don't.
I think Krusty Dogs is a pretty boring episode
