Good message. I just want to say that when I grew up protestant I had never once heard of Reformation day and I never learned much about Luther until I became Catholic ( we didn't call ourselves protestants either- I only use it to distinguish from Catholic). I'm not disagreeing because I have since heard of said protestants (usually "theologians") who do celebrate it. I just want everyone to know that as shocking as it is that some* protestants celebrate Oct 31st for reformation/Luther (and it is shocking!) - the vast, vast majority know nothing of any church history and about who Luther was or what he taught and couldn't tell you why they're not Catholic except they weren't born Catholic. We need to pray and patiently, lovingly teach them. It really does surprise people.

Here's a tid-bit that's so secretive that not even Lutheran clerics know. In reading an account of Luther's death, one finds he prayed a full 15 decades of the rosary on his death bed. It's amazing how much the professors keep hidden from the seminary students and public. PAX

    FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING
This feast was instituted by Pope Pius XI at the close of the Holy Year,
1925. The purpose of the Holy Father was to bring home to all mankind the fact
that Christ is King not merely over individuals, but over families and societies,
over states and nations, over rulers and tribunals as well. The duty of Catholics
is to hasten the return of the world to His authority by their prayers, their
influence, and their actions. They are reminded that they must courageously
fight under His royal banner, with the weapons of the spirit, for the rights of God
    and of His Church.
The last Sunday of October was chosen for the feast, the Sunday preceding
All Saints, because during this month the liturgical year draws to its close and
thus the mysteries of Jesus Christ are fittingly completed and crowned by the
liturgical festival of Christ, the King. On the same day also will annually take
place the consecration of mankind to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Christ is
proclaimed King of all mankind both in the Old and the New Testament. David,
Isaias, Daniel and Zacharias in plainest terms predicted the kingship or the
kingdom of the future Messiah. At the coming of Christ the Angel Gabriel
announced that "of His Kingdom there shall be no end." The Savior Himself
declared His kingship before Pilate. But His kingdom, though in this world, was
not to be of this world. On the last day He will present Himself together with His
kingdom to His Father, when all His enemies shall have been put under His feet.

Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
To take place on the Feast of our Lord Christ, King.
( The last Sunday of October)
Most, sweer Jesus, Redeemer of the human race, look down upon us.,humbly prostrate before Thy altar. We are Thine and Thine we wish to be; but, to be more surely united with Thee, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself to-day to Thy Most Sacred Heart. Many indeed have never known Thee; many, too, despising Thy precepts, have rejected Thee. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to Thy Sacred Heart. Be Thou King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken Thee, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned Thee; grant that they may quickly return to their Father's house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger. Be Thou King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one Shepherd. Be Thou King of all those who are still involved in the darkness of idolatry or of Islamism, and refuse not to draw them all into the light and kingdom of God. Turn Thine eyes of mercy toward the children of that race once Thy chosen people. Of old they called down upon themselves the Blood of the Saviour; may It now descend upon them a laver of redemption and of life. Grant O Lord, to Thy Church assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation ; to It be glory and honor forever.
      Amen

There are two traditions: Catholic & pagan, which evolved over centuries. Nowadays, Catholics celebrate 1st & 2nd of Nov, pagans celebrate 31st of Oct. What's happened in Mexico is known as the religious syncretism. When Mexico was colonised, the natives had to accept the Catholic faith against their will. They wanted to keep their native traditions & beliefs, but were conquered, so had to accept a new faith. This fusion between Catholic faith & native religious traditions is known as syncretism. Los días de los muertos, as I understand it, is the Mexican tradition, pagan at first, that had to transform, and has allocated the Catholic faith. Or better, it's a Catholic festival with the native flavour.
Day of the dead would be a non-Catholic approach / a non-believer's approach. All Saints day is a Catholic approach. It stems from the different beliefs system. In Mexico 'Los días de los muertos' is nowadays a proper name for this custom / celebrations and could be translated as 'Days of the Dead' literally.

The Mexican holiday began in pagan times but "fit" in with Christian practices, and so it was "baptized." It's a day to pray for the dead who died in the previous year. There are some superstitious attachments, such as the belief that the souls of the recently departed remain near the grave until that night, when they will be able to join the living who mourn them. But not all Catholic Mexicans believe that. They just honor the deceased members of their families, especially those who have died in the past year. That's what I learned at the Hispanic Mission where I attended Mass for about 10 years.

In "The Facts About Luther" by Msgr. Patrick F. O'Hare, L.L.D., published in 1916, pp. 135-136 of the Kindle Edition:
Read Luther’s work against “The Mass and the Ordination of Priests,” where he tells of his famous disputation with the “father of lies” who accosted him “at midnight” and spoke to him with “a deep, powerful voice,” causing “the sweat to break forth” from his brow and his “heart to tremble and beat.” In that celebrated conference, of which he was an unexceptional witness and about which he never entertained the slightest doubt, he says plainly and unmistakingly that “the devil spoke against the Mass, and Mary and the Saints” and that, moreover, “Satan gave him the most unqualified approval of his doctrine of justification by faith alone.” Who now, we ask in all sincerity, can be found, except those appallingly blind to truth, to accept such a man, approved by the enemy of souls, as a spiritual teacher and entrust to his guidance their eternal welfare?

@@brianodonnell5585 Interesting... Protestants try to frame it as literary device. Not sure that helps their case.

I get that our satanic culture has appropriated Halloween and don't celebrate it like Catholics should, but I submit that Halloween is a uniquely Catholic holiday and a great opportunity for evangelism. Not like the JWs do by handing out flyers instead of candy, but by a) avoiding the witchcraft and other demonic stuff and b) remembering death and making light of it because Jesus has triumphed over it. Making light of it in the sense that death isn't to be feared if you have faith in Christ and receive the Sacraments, that is.
The globalist hates the mention of death which is why they would inject the blood of children to extend their own life by a day. They know what is waiting for them if they don't repent. Death also reminds us that the tyranny of evil men is temporary.
The argument "all saints is for those in heaven, all souls is for those in purgatory, so I guess Halloween must be for those in hell" isn't supported by facts either... I mean maybe some local custom here and there got it really wrong but day of the dead is literally just about remembering your family members and praying for them.

Shameful depiction of God the Father in the art work. By the way, Luther prayed the commendo spiritum meum and redemisti me domine deus veritatis repeatedly the night he died.

I remember coming across a Christian devotional book on a teacher's desk while I was subbing for her. The prayers were beautiful. I was horrified to see that they were composed by Martin Luther. If someone who fell so far, dragging millions of souls out of the Holy Church, could yet compose such devoted words, then we are all at risk of rejecting God, no matter how pious we seem. Be ever watchful, for the enemy prowls about like a lion seeking prey!
