Listen, I know it's off topic but for the "darkness will spare my soul" part - the staging is set up EXACTLY like Let It Out in TGWDLM. Intentionally feels very "this is the moment that we officially lose Grace/Paul to the Lords in Black"

This musical gave me so much stellar Jon Matteson vocal moments I am so SO SATISFIED. The way his voice is so controlled in the opening number? HOOO MY GOD
There's so many underrated actors in Starkid, I agree. Corey, Jon, Bryce, even Joey are all such good singers and I think this musical is the first time they got solos/their own individual parts. :p
have u seen joey in a very potter senior year? & even trail to oregon he carries the ensemble in that show...i'd check out the songs sidekick & independence..his talent really shows in those
I thought we all knew that the vocals were so crisps because we weren't hearing the live vocals? But damn this show was so good - I've watched it several times already. Its such a iconic Starkid show.
I don’t think Jon’s voice got better, I just think this show shows off his vocal ability better. Where in tgwdlm he only sang one song that was right on his break.
there's something so haunting about someone whose defining character trait is having strong religious faith singing "who will pray for you?"
