Brace your box and reinforce it and you will have one hell of a nice little system and maybe add another battery or a cap bank to help boost your voltage up some...
Some really great equipment! I'm not sure it would be beneficial to brace the box you have vs building something larger and more stable for those subs though. That box looks legit for a less powerful setup but perhaps too small for the pressure these behemoths create. Even sundown recommends 5 CF box and thats just a starting point.....
Lol yeah i had this customed made more for looks. I know sound is supposed to be heard not seen but coming in at 4.3 cubes with the 3/4" acrylic it still hits pretty hard. My next box is gonna be strictly high output...all birch maybe 6 cubes, triple baffle and reinforced like fort knox 💪🏾🔊🙉
Haha! That box is bout to lose it ! That’s awesome man you would really gain a lot from another baffle or just a all new stronger box. That song does tear shit up though.
Yeah it came out nicer than i thought....i saw a similar one online but a local builder built this to my specs and came it out better for a fraction of the online one. 💪🏾
what amp would you recommend to use if I only wanna run one of these subs? I’m trying to save a bit of money and what gauge wire? Any help would be appreciated!
I like the box style smart build that 👌🏻 I’d really think about getting a thicker built box and some good bracing mite damage the subs with that much flex 😂 like I said still a smart build 👍🏻
Nice setup man! I run an scv4k on a couple American Bass HD12s. Love it! Almost bought the Xs instead. Curious to hear them in person. Got the 2 HDs for about the same price as one X. So it was an easy choice at the time when I was down on cash.
Yea xs run you more money, unless you find used ones. I have 4 sundown x12 v2 and they smash lows, it just doesn’t seem like the sub is working that hard to get low
@@mikessplboxes7497 they’ve been great! And I’m picky. I Prefer powerful lows and they deliver, but they aren’t one note wonders either. I’ve had a couple neighbors kindly suggest I turn it down to stop shaking the pictures on their walls when I go by lol. And their windows. 🤷♂️
@@mikessplboxes7497 had a guy 4 cars ahead of me stop me at the next light to ask what I have too. His jaw dropped when I said two 12s lol. And it’s winter here in Michigan, can’t roll the windows down very far. I’ve kept them the longest of any sub so far over the last 10 years. Box is made by Cherryman Customs out of Tennessee. That’s the most important part and he’s a genius. Sound modeled, double baffle (or more if needed), flush mount, 45ed, pocket joints, the whole 9. About $450 shipped by freight for two 12s ported with MDF. He works with plexi also. Wood terminal cups built in, brass bolts and nuts to finish it off. But those are up to you to acquire. Probably more than you wanted to know, but it always impresses anyone who hears it.
Beautiful set-up but you should really add a brace inside the box and or add another baffle layer to the box. Those subs are flexing the baffle like crazy you are losing output and will damage subs like snapping the spokes in the baskets.
Change the box. How close to the bottom of your box to the magnet? Looks pretty close you might want more space under the sub this would help with cooling.
You don't "need" too if you are running your vehicle on a regular basis. The agm or lead acid batteries will rest at a lower voltage than the lithium and draw it down over time so you have to stay on top of it if you are not running an isolator. Not a big deal though. Technically the lithium would be better without the agm but you lose a little bit extra reliability.
Killer set up . Might need to brace tge center of box between subs ! In the video it looks like the box is flexin a bit. Might be camera tho. Id love this set up for myself !
Turn the box around so the port wil face the rear with the box bout 3inches from the tailgate them lows will sound way louder.....ive did 3 builds on your same vehicle....
Hey bro if you don’t mind me asking, how thick of a piece of plexiglass/ Lexan did you use there? It was taking a beating and holding up good. Does it rattle at all? Thanks ahead!!
3/4" Acrylic same as the birch... 3/4" all around. Box glued and screwed. The acrylic was originally screwed and sealed with silicone but i removed it and instead of silicone i used a trimed sheet of cork to seal it. Makes for easy removal also. So far so good no rattle from box or acrylic. 💪🏾
Thing gets down. I would put braces left to right and up and down in that though. The box is flexing like crazy and that can cause the coil to shift and blow a woofer.
Bro you can brace it to the port, just get a 1in wooden dowel from hardware store and measure from face to port then inside the port to exterior wall and brace the port and then brace the face to the port and it will be solid and good to go!
yeah i looked at it and imma have to use threaded rods with a threaded plate on top of the port from inside the box to secure that end....vs dowels i can screw it securely from top of baffle but the bottom of the dowel will be on top of the port and i cant fit a screw driver inside to screw it down and plus the port has a middle brace already also.
If you face the port of your box back and put 1 more ply of wood on top or put internal bracing in your box you will get way louder💯
Brace that box up bro you won’t be mad but clean set up 🦾🦾
Yeh hes losing a lot of db
Thats what i was thinking... like damn single layer baffle flexing.. so much money on everything else
Yes, nice system, but that box needs both bracing and a baffle. Single layer isn't enough for that much power
Looks amazing but the box is flexing a lot and its slowly damaging and will break the subwoofers. Add another baffle
That's what I was noticing 😬😪
What is a baffle ?

Ya at least a double baffle flush mounted
Good looking setup 👌
Impressive system. Those Sundown subs are like pistons..

in fact.. almost every sub is indeed a piston

Your baffle is flexing so much you can see the motor moving. Good thing sundown baskets are as strong as they are.
Shits banging tho

How many feet all together of the 0 gauge did you end up using for this?

It sounds somewhat good, although it lacks a few wheels so that you look at the most perrona van. Good video...
