An abuser will make their partner feel like nobody else will want them or that the way they're treating them is normal or even that they treat them better than normal people and sometimes they use that abuse to threaten the person and say that if they try to leave them then they'll hurt them. That's why a lot of times police get called on the same person repeatedly for domestic abuse yet the abused party doesn't want to press charges or anything. It's not as easy as "just leaving".

Edit: A lot of you misunderstood my point. What I meant is that the only place where you're gonna be able to win the police is in a court of law, not fighting them in the streets, it's common sense.

There is a great write up by a former police officer about just this. Basically, criminal's do not think like normal people. They are not acting from reason, logic or wishing for a peaceful end to the situation. So expecting a criminal to behave rational is not realistic. A criminal has already made up their mind BEFORE the actions we see. They have decided that your life is worth taking so they can do whatever they want. Just listen to this guy in the video demanding that cop shoot him during the talking phase of the interaction. He was dead set on doing whatever in the heck he wanted to and death was the only way anyone was going to stop him.
Dude was beating his partner, that already shows you that this man is not normal and doesn’t operate under the mindset like us regular, civil people.

A rational person listens to these stories and doesn’t understand. They don’t get that criminal behavior is often irrational and the fact that it doesn’t make sense is why they themselves aren’t a criminal. That failure to understand what an irrational personal is capable of often puts people at risk.

Many officers dont use it unless its in the departments policy. Many officers dont like having something on them they feel is unnecessary. These radios are really ment to have a ear piece in so the public cant hear it.

It was absolutely necessary to shoot the guy before he got into the house. It's a miracle he didn't have guns inside and killed a bunch of people with them. Same goes for cars. Cops shouldn't let criminals drive off, that way innocent people might get hurt.
