Larry Burkett's book on "Giving and Tithing" drew me closer to God and helped my spirituality. 2020 was a year I literally lived it. I cashed in my life savings and gave it all away. My total giving amounted to 40,000 dollars. Everyone thought I was delusional. Today I receive 85,000 dollars every two months. I have a property in Calabasas CA and travel alot. God has promoted me more than once and opened doors for me to live beyond my dreams. God kept to his promises to and for me.

I’ve lost so many churches to go to. I grew up attending the Methodist church… I was diligent in my weekly goings to Sunday church services. I volunteered at the church, attend youth services, attended summer church camp,… my grandmother was so dedicated to God and taught me to live with that same dedication. Years later that church started falling apart through untrusting parishioners and it destroyed the reputation of a pastor who’d done no wrong. I ended up being led by God to a new church….where I’d met a good friend who introduced me to my husband. Through meeting him and attending Sunday masses at his Catholic Church….. I ended up joining before we got married. We stayed committed with going to church, we were both in the choir,…. But when the church started merging and rotating other priests… we didn’t feel comfortable in the church anymore. We would try to attend different ones…. But it got to a point where we weren’t able to attend because of merging churches and cut hours for available services.
My husband passed in 2021… after a long battle with Covid. Our church is gone. So, even though I don’t have a physical church to go to (since it shut down and they merged to one out of town I can’t get my boys and I to go to)…. I continue to keep my faith in God and teach my children. We keep searching for a church to attend. But in the mean time…. We have church together. I feel It shouldn’t matter the denomination of a church one attends…. Church is the action of you and the time you commit and give to God, no matter the place / dwelling. Church is your commitment to God, not a building. And I’ve continued to teach my children all of this, and what God truly wants for our lives and all.

I’m in the same place of being surprised that I’m back in Christ myself. I’ve been ona very different path for the past 8+ years and over the past few weeks God miraculously brought me back and opened me to a real and person relationship with Jesus Christ over the past few weeks. I’m still stunned at how it came about and God softened my heart to His Word and it’s just like you said. I’m realizing I’ve always looked to leaders and churches to guide me and approve of me. Now it is Christ alone and He is guiding me into a deep relationship with Him. Thank you for your faithfulness Gavin. I’ve mocked it and you in the past and I ask for your forgiveness. I was blind, but now I see. I was dead but now I have been raised to a new life in Christ, clothed in His rightness alone! Amen.
