DAY 3: Northern Golden Circle Self-Drive

- 04:58 : Þingvellir / Thingvellir (where 2 tectonic plates meet and are spreading apart 2" per year!)

DAY 4: Reykjavik

- 09:23 : getting dessert for later at beloved bakery chain Bakarameistarinn
- 09:31 : being silly at dinner, Reykjavik Fish Restaurant for fish & chips
- 10:02 : finally saw the Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis

We were in the fence of booking a bus tour vs self drive and are SO glad we got a car. Driving there is so easy, and more flexible to go at your own pace! Though tour guide to give us tons of info and folklore and whatnot would have been fun

What a trip. They eat the Puffin Birds in Iceland? I watched The Real Housewives of Orange County when they took a trip to Iceland.

I think it’s not a common food more like a delicacy! Whale, puffin, shark, and reindeer, not served most places you have to hunt to find it and really $$$$$$ so we didn’t have them 🤣
