Hey from LA (lower Alabama) . I have a 2014 Burgman 200 and will need to change my rear tire before too long. This has been very helpful. I am continually amazed at this scooter and what it can do for it's engine size. Thanks
Excellent attentive details. Axle nut 87ft pounds/ 120nm. The two bolts from swing arm into aluminum do not have torque shown or listed in the Service Manual - surprisingly.
pps an option. Take out the exhaust connector bolt and expand the clamp. Remove the three muffler bolts. THEN the muffler can be rotated onto the ground without removing it from the seal at the exhaust connector point.
From sg. Thanks for sharing! Our burgman FB riders had shared his rear wheel bearing wornt out and enlarged the rear hub slot for the bearing to seat. He had a wheel replaced. Think it's good to change out this bearing on opportunity. Hope this helps.
Did you find what the torque settings are for the 14mm bolts? I used to run those Michelin tyres on scooters they are great all weather tyres, but the tread running around the tyre in that way used to catch every nail and screw on the roads, so I stopped using them and went for the Bridgestone battle axe tyres, I’ve not had any punctures yet,
So there is no gasket to replace from the exhaust? Just curious, would this be a good time to replace the brakes and what did your brakes look like after 5k miles?
Hey @DirtRider22, I was trying to fill my burgman 200 rear tire up with air, but it's a bit hard to get to the cap. The front wheel is easy, but how do I access the rear wheel air cap better?
I have a small nozzle like this: www.speedwaymotors.com/Longacre-52-50490-Full-Flow-Air-Filler-Chuck,282815.html?sku=47550490&CSEGoogle&CSE&CSEGOOGLE&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4NHB8su7-wIVngatBh3j-Q7UEAQYAyABEgKWPfD_BwE
Good video,my wheel has little gap back and forth, when i spin it with my hand to the front and to the back it has little play there, left and right is tight no play,is that normal ?
I think so, the wheel is splined and the axle shaft is as well so there has to be a little play in that splined fit so the wheel goes on and off easily. As a machinist I didn’t notice it to be an excessive amount on mine.
I can’t remember for certain but my set goes to 22mm and then I have a 27mm, can’t remember what I bought the 27mm for so if 21mm is close then I would say it’s a 22mm, if 21 is not close at all I would say 27
I normally do on all my other bikes but the rear wheel has splines on the inside diameter to mate with the axel shaft so balancing the old school way wouldn’t work, just sticking it on a shaft and letting the heavy side rotate to the bottom. So I didn’t bother, never felt any vibrations after the tire change that weren’t there prior to changing so I didn’t worry about it
@@DirtRider22a Ah, that's good. Thanks for the quick response! I'm thinking of getting one of these, so I'm studying up on all the ins and outs. I used to have a PCX150. I'm guessing this one is a bit quicker off the line.
@@DirtRider22a Well I bought a new one yesterday! Pretty cool so far! Not too big. Not too small. Just right size. The seat could be more comfortable though.
Thanks for the video! I changed my rear tire myself thanks to you! You Saved me some money and taught me. Thanks again!
That’s awesome!!! I’m glad you found the video helpful 🤙🏼
Best how to tire removal on a scooter video I have ever seen. Thank you much, Steve, new Burgman 200 owner.
Thanks, glad it was helpful 👍
I love my 200 and this video was a real money and time saver. Thank you for your Burgman 200 vids, Dirt Rider. Great stuff.
Glad to have helped 👍

Glad it was helpful for you, I’m also in LA (Lexington Alabama) 👍

p.s. The Allen bolts on the brake caliper torque is 19ft lbs/26nm. so your 15 pounds was very close.

Good info, thanks!!!
Thanks for sharing. Good Lord had I known I’d have to pull half that back end apart just to change a tire when I bought my Burgman ha ha
Tanks for sharing. It was very helpful

Not an official torque spec but the specs I used are also listed in the description and I never had any issue 👍
@@DirtRider22athanks for that, I changed my tyre today, I was sure to use a dab of lock tite on all of the bolts when I replaced them, 👍

Brakes looked fine, and I didn’t get a new exhaust gasket but never noticed and black on the plastic indicating an exhaust leak

Do we know the spanner size for the main wheel nut ? I thought 21mm but was too small?

Did you not have to balance the wheel with weights? Maybe since the wheel diameter is so small it is not needed?

Sorry I didn’t include that in the video, you will need atleast 3 tires spoons and some patience
