Ricochet owns his name, so he can still be Ricochet in AEW, NJPW, or wherever he goes to next. He can't use the previous name "Prince Puma", which was his Lucha Underground name. WWE has made Trevor Mann a reasonably wealthy man, so that gives him the capability to do the thing he loves - perform. In AEW, he will be featured in every PPV for the next 3 years. No matter how you slice it, he would not have been booked like that in WWE. I hope he is happy with his decision. Just like AJ Styles' decision get that last BIG Payday in WWE
Pat MacAfee proved that not just anyone can do ring announcing. And that’s no slight, it’s a credit to whoever does it, it’s a tough gig.
Ricochet fits in perfectly in AEW. His skills set is going to be over in that company.
WWE midcarded this guy so bad I don’t if AEW (or any promotion for that matter) can elevate him to top card anymore, but if anyone got a chance to succeed in elevating him, it’s Tony Khan.
The weird judgment fans are making, that if you leave the WWE, it must be for a championship level position, is kind of nuts. Go make some money and enjoy life. #RickOShea
He needed a mouthpiece to get him over the top in WWE and they never gave it to him. Now he can go to other companies where mic skills are only important in the main event.
So he’ll be in the same spot - with less exposure?
@@Roguechinchilla The other companies focus more on the in-ring stuff and less on scripted promos and have nearly zero backstage segments (of which Richochet was in almost weekly in WWE)
Not to mention that his whole moveset is finally unlocked again.

Pretty clear he will go be another Cesaro level guy in AEW. Will never get a world title shot unless its against Ospreay, and might hold a secondary title once. Will go back to WWE in 4 years to accept a spot as a guy who losses. That's really what most guys are going for when they leave WWE
You want to get out while you're still on TV and not completely demoted to jobber to the stars in order to ensure that your post-WWE value doesn't go too far down. You know you might end up in catering and eventually get released, so might as well go while you're still kind of a name.
Not everyone can become King of the Indies like Cardona, completely re-inventing himself. Lots of one trick ponies.
'Sides, that TNA partnership looks like a great way to get great jobber to the stars for cheap. Plus, they used to work for you and know their way around your system! Expect Ziggler to show up for a one off payday to put over whomever they need.
