Spent most of my week in hospital. Watching your video took some of the weight I was feeling away. It is easy to get wrapped up in our own drama and lose the peace that sustains us. Like many others I love the details, door hardware, the fire pit drawings, chickens begging (so cute). But my favorite thing of the week... Watching you and "the guys"on your walk around the neighborhood. and gathering in your cabin for food. The feeling of peace began to return some hope to my soul. Thank you Martijn. I’m amazed at the amount of research and physical and mental focus it has taken to bring this piece of property to life. The amount of work involved is staggering !!! lol. Makes one appreciate the dedication even more deeply. There will probably always be something else to add to the property as the vision grows..
I like that Johannes and Martijn both go about their own way, when needed they connect and work together. And for the rest the friendship is not like they need to see each other every day. I think in times of need you can count on both man. Johannes is a more experienced man living in the mountains being Austrian. So i think it is wise for Mathijs and Ollie to listen to him when he explains things and also living longer in Italy and in that area so he is a good resource for help and info.

Martijn your pizze look mouthwateringly good! For anybody interested, pizzoccheri is a dish of noodles made with buckwheat (not chestnut) flour mixed with wheaten flour. They are cooked with savoy cabbage, potatoes and gooey cheese. I have made a version that includes sliced sausage too. Winter fare, lots of calories but so delicious.
Where I live the seasons don't change much. So listening to the birds and seeing the greenery coming through after the snowy weather must be delightful. Everything is fresh and glistening, just beautiful.

I'm tellin ya. My life alone here in New Hampshire. Sometimes I feel alone. But I try to be creative. My current focus is Motorcycles. This is crazy because I am 70 years old. But always. Be creative. I have had a fire pit design on the books like yours for many years. But then I found a 20 inch piece of 15 inch round 3/8th inch pipe at the steel scrapyard ~ on stones. Familiarity has bridged a beautiful visit, and it is relaxing to see expressions of friendship flourishing not staged. Inclined to dress up the place like a mannequin but unlikely, to visualize things in place and order is mind- engaging and exercising. Amused to look at the chickens like friends reciprocating as they are treated with understanding and fairness. The bulbs are nice to look at as it lifts up the place candidly. Firepits are VERY popular here in Eastern Central Wisconsin, USA (Kiel, WI) and we love to spend Spring to Fall around the firepit. Ours is 20 feet square, brick in a basket weave pattern, with a firepit in the center. No better way than spending time with friends. Always enjoy your videos of progress.
I've been in cities since I was 13, but never forgot the indescribable inner peace and serenity that being truly out in nature and knowing a piece of land gives. It's a shame so many city folk have no idea. In a few years when I'm 40 I'm planning to give up the rat race and semi retire and find the beauty in these videos again.

You make it look so simple. Can’t imagine all the work you put into this presentation for us to see. On top of all the work you do. Your determination helps me see “I can do this” when I feel like giving up .
The place looks rested and ready-compliant of what the next activity in mind. Having mentioned the readiness aura, things that particularly stand out are the outdoor kitchen validated for its importance and exceptional hub-space ideal for special connection that makes one feels accepted. You have a knack of design, and even though we are not all literate of the subject, the creation must be designed all together connected. The fire pit, we will see its final makeover as it speaks character - well thought and resolve. In hindsight the season brings slowly interesting attraction in the place which tone down the undesirable events of the past winter, dislike but learning, slow-down but growing, limited but increasing.

Such a special place and I love the birdsong in the mornings. The two hens are so funny as they run after him. I have watched the transformation since the start, Martijn bought a stone hut and he is turning it into a wonderful home. His designing and building skills are outstanding. I must admit that all this time, admiring your courage, determination, creativity and resilience, made me developing some kind of envy, if not plain jealousy. I am 73 and, when I now review the small accomplishments of mine, I get amazed to what I could have done if I'd been bolder. I also find inspiring the way you connect with people, especially with Joannes and visitors. How I wish I could sit on your favourite rock and contemplate in awe this vast overlooking nature. I think in times of need you can count on both man. Johannes is a more experienced man living in the mountains being Austrian. So i think it is wise for Mathijs and Ollie to listen to him when he explains things and also living longer in Italy and in that area so he is a good resource for help and info.

Martijn your pizze look mouthwateringly good! For anybody interested, pizzoccheri is a dish of noodles made with buckwheat (not chestnut) flour mixed with wheaten flour. They are cooked with savoy cabbage, potatoes and gooey cheese. I have made a version that includes sliced sausage too. Winter fare, lots of calories but so delicious.
Where I live the seasons don't change much. So listening to the birds and seeing the greenery coming through after the snowy weather must be delightful. Everything is fresh and glistening, just beautiful.

So nice to see the trees leafing out, but it's still not too warm to use the indoor oven. And it did my heart good to see that the dog who comes to visit once in a while has a home. Pizzoccheri are made with buckwheat flour. They are cooked with potatoes, cabbage, cheese and butter. They are from Valtellina, Lombardy.

I enjoy the birds singing and always the chickens are entertaining. So envious that Martin can do so much with his skills.

Was wondering if your parents will be visiting soon. I know the will be highly impressed with your homestead. So many improvements since their last visit. I will be planting an herb garden that i hope will be mole proof. Those buggers have really done damage to so many plants. I struggle with the rodents including groundhogs. I'm tellin ya. My life alone here in New Hampshire. Sometimes I feel alone. But I try to be creative. My current focus is Motorcycles. This is crazy because I am 70 years old. But always. Be creative. I have had a fire pit design on the books like yours for many years. But then I found a 20 inch piece of 15 inch round 3/8th inch pipe at the steel scrapyard ~ on stones. A "rocket stove." That's been fun. There you are with your elevation. Wow. So sweet. ~ And the sap gathering. Just great. Thank you so much for sharing all of this. ~ Steve from New Hampshire.

Amused to look at the chickens like friends reciprocating as they are treated with understanding and fairness. The bulbs are nice to look at as it lifts up the place candidly. Well the chair is a beautiful addition and hope to see the paintings on the wall later. Old path and road are used constantly, and it is assuring for it tells wonderful stories of events and life. Firepits are VERY popular here in Eastern Central Wisconsin, USA (Kiel, WI) and we love to spend Spring to Fall around the firepit. Ours is 20 feet square, brick in a basket weave pattern, with a firepit in the center. No better way than spending time with friends. Always enjoy your videos of progress.

I've been in cities since I was 13, but never forgot the indescribable inner peace and serenity that being truly out in nature and knowing a piece of land gives. It's a shame so many city folk have no idea. In a few years when I'm 40 I'm planning to give up the rat race and semi retire and find the beauty in these videos again.

But he’s had a lot of trials in this house building. It’s not always been easy, but now it looks easy ✌️
The place looks rested and ready-compliant of what the next activity in mind. Having mentioned the readiness aura, things that particularly stand out are the outdoor kitchen validated for its importance and exceptional hub-space ideal for special connection that makes one feels accepted.
You have a knack of design, and even though we are not all literate of the subject, the creation must be designed all together connected. The fire pit, we will see its final makeover as it speaks character - well thought and resolve. In hindsight the season brings slowly interesting attraction in the place which tone down the undesirable events of the past winter, dislike but learning, slow-down but growing, limited but increasing.

Such a special place and I love the birdsong in the mornings. The two hens are so funny as they run after him. I have watched the transformation since the start, Martijn bought a stone hut and he is turning it into a wonderful home. His designing and building skills are outstanding. I LOVE every Detail you put into your work, it's a Mark of Excellence, that little door you made, the frame, the strap iron hinges, and the door handle all look like they were made 100 years ago. Thank you for taking Us along on Tours of stone Cabins a walk through the woods, and a Tour in your Car, Where you live is so Beautiful no matter what season you are there, Although Winter looks harsh. It compares to Iowa winter, just that you can be stuck up there in the Mountain by downed trees and I unpassable roads, where here by the next day the roads are all maintained so people can get out and go to work

Hello Martijn, I have spent about a month watching your 108 videos. Addictive. I must admit that all this time, admiring your courage, determination, creativity and resilience, made me developing some kind of envy, if not plain jealousy. I am 73 and, when I now review the small accomplishments of mine, I get amazed to what I could have done if I'd been bolder. I also find inspiring the way you connect with people, especially with Joannes and visitors. How I wish I could sit on your favourite rock and contemplate in awe this vast overlooking nature.
