it’s not the amount of time you’ve been a fan it’s about what you expect from the sport and your knowledge on it and I think the lack of these are what creates annoying uneducated fans for example I’ve only been into Motorsports for a little over 2 years but have made it my hobby and have learned an extreme amount about numerous series and driving techniques and went from racing in the f1 games to now competing in iracing and maxing out my license in my first month competing in two 24h races and a few other endurance events and with my knowing this much about Motorsport I can have conversations with longer term fans and fully fit in I also like f1 for the racing where as a very good proportion of the new fans only watch for drama
There’s a difference between a DTS fan and an F1 fan. If u watch a Netflix show about F1 and don’t actually watch F1 ur a fan of Netflix show. If u start watching F1 after watching a Netflix show u are an F1 fan, I’m gonna get canceled for this
