- No, not all blacklights are the same and one of them is the worst! There are Incandescent, LED, Flourescent and Mercury Vapor UV Black Lights. Also, here are a few things that will GLOW BRIGHT under a blacklight!
Tell me what you think! Thanks, Mike - Развлечения
If I were to ever go on trial, I want this guy to defend me.
Dude same
😂
Damn, this video was from 2011 and looks like something made in 1992
That wasn't necessary. Do you have to say something negative to boost your own ego? This was a very informative video!!!
It probably was. There's a lot of old commercials and music videos from the 90's that were uploaded on here recently.
Retta N how is that negative? It actually looks dope
@@rettan4973 shut up
@@rettan4973 Instead of being offended for no reason, try educating yourself a bit. The video is clearly interlaced, as evidenced by the stripy artifacts when he moves his arms. This implies they used older camera equipment, which is likely what gave the video this retro look. Nowhere did Gobbo say anything bad about this video.
I like this guy. He talks fast but he knows what he's saying. A lot of people talking about stuff like this talk super slow and and dull.
He is really good at presenting.
This dude is a great host.
Not
This guy is a party of his own! Cheers! Subscribed !!!
Impossible not to subscribe after that laughter at 6:40
This guy is amazing told me what I wanted to know in less than 5 minutes
I couldn't help but notice that you are an AMAZING salesman! Great job in the video.
your enthusiasm is the best
You packed a lot of really good information into this short video...thank you, my blacklight questions were answered!
Very informative! Cheerful guy, too.
I love this video! So much energy!
He should be a game show host
I love your energy. No pun intended.

I like the way you keep it real! 💯👍

Mike, you got me in a habit, every morning I check my e-mail then you tube to see what fun you guys are up to today. I get a lot of ideas from your clips, and some of them even have to do with lighting effects. thank you b2 lighting Fx
Wow! I learned quite alot from this video!
Thanks for making it! :D
this guy is seriously cracked out. I wasn't ready for this
Fantastic video! Informative and fun!
Gotta love them blacklights! Come check out the newest UV LED technology! Crazy how tech improves each year.
Something to bear in mind when using LED blacklights is the wavelength that the LEDs produce. The 'standard' (i.e. cheapest) LEDs emit light at about 405nm - you need very reactive (to UV light) materials to get a decent effect.
When you lower the wavelength, less reactive materials start fluroescing also. 365nm is quite a sweet spot, although these LEDs (or fixtures containing these) cost quite a bit more. The 365nm have been dropping in price, although not as fast as more 'standard' LEDs and this is a trend that will probably continue due to the economies of scale (or lack of in 365nm's case).
I have found it hard with some fixtures to find out the wavelength of the LEDs (I always assume 405nm in these cases!) Just make sure that when buying fixtures that you are comparing not just the wattage of the fixture, but the wavelength too.
Great vid as always Mike. Thx
Thank you so much for this knowledge. I learned so much today.
@@pastelrave7432 Sorry for being an asshole, but are you saying that watching a 5 minute video + reading a comment was "learning much" in a day?
@@DasAntiNaziBroetchen well, tbh, I don't remember writing the comment or watching the video, but I guess I meant that I learned a lot about black lights lol and no you don't seem like an asshole, if you're wondering.
He really presents well..
Very informative love it!
Ahhhhhh thanks for this video! iv been searching for like an hour and this is the first video or anything iv found very helpfull!!!!
thanks man, awesome dude !
Thanks for the great video ! Helped me out alot !
Very Nice Video !!! thanks DJ mikey Mike
Thanks!
Best possible presentation bravo sir
Came for black light, stayed for Mike.
weve learned that woolite glows awesome as well in blacklite! nice demo mike.
Great VIDEO !!!!
Thanks for this! Interesting. It's a confusing subject.
45 years ago a fluorescent arcade game " Big Game Hunter " type coin operated machine amazed the Hell out of me because it only took a coin to make the fluorescent majic...to this day I am as amazed by it still as I was when I was 4 years old ... I have been and continue to experiment almost exclusively with fluorescent paint and UV lights...I am getting some of those awesome blacklights you described THANX jef with one F
I bought $60 worth of those incandescent black lights for a party last year...really wish I saw this video then
I can't wait to give black light a shot.
i got the 24 in. blacklight from ADJ and i LOVE it!
so powerfull sir.. powerfulll..!!
This guy is very convincing, I'll take them all!
great video
I just bought the bulb you mentioned at 1:27. It's pretty decent. The last one I had my ex-boyfriend crushed :( I love black lights, but I had a hard time finding one until now. Wal-Mart sells them for $5.77 CAD and comes with a 9-year warranty. I mainly bought it for illuminating cat urine stains on my carpet in order to clean them, but I'm definitely going to keep using it for my bedroom. Nice video! Thank you! :)
you seem like a knowledgeable and very cool guy so I was wondering if there was a compact led i mean really small that I could use to hopefully concealed inside or underneath or behind a bottle of tonic to make it glow?
this guy is great
thanks :)
Uranium also glows under a black light.
Awesome video!
I'm using the DDJ-T1 and unless I have a lamp right above me, it's really difficult to see the volume faders and knobs on the controller.
Could I get a small LED blacklight lamp sort of thing to light my equipment up?
Also, I'm thinking of getting a sticker cover put on my DDJ-T1. Do you think it would work?
He knows a lot about party, I like this guy ,
I can't believe that I watched a whole commercial, he's so good at this I really enjoyed it 😶
man that guy sure is passionate about his black lights
Thanks for the info! I was planning on making a uv strobe with my own uv LED's but was not sure if it would be effective.
This guy is too cool!
i would love that !!!!!!
whats a good size for a large bedroom?
Mike very Nice change! I see you doing rather well. Tha Ryddla. I have purchased many different black lights from Mike for my Shows. I am looking forward to finding more LED blacklights that wont wash out my UV tattoos......
I mixed liquid laundry soap and Vaseline and then painted on the walls. Long lasting glow!
Good video
damn I learned quite a bit
I just bought one for my basement (1:27) Very cool
might get a 2nd
Is There a brand of tape that show under the light?
I have a few signs and posters I want to outline
This guy is great, should have his own show lol.
It'd be safe in a lamp wouldn't it? the light would be facing away from me so I think it wouldn't harm me
dave is getting to be a really good camera man.
Any idea of which lightning to use? I am planning a school black light party in the gym and don't know which one to get
I got 2 of the same 4 foot blacklights
They cost about 40 dollars each on Amazon. They are super bright!
@MSDJALC ya, I'll be lookin' it up later today to find the specs on it. Flourecents do flash but, only when the ballast or bulb is goin out... LOL that just gives me a headache... I do currently have a 4bar and noticed it makes things glow a bit when on full blue w/ a little red mixed in... so I may just use that if the $ doesn't come through to put this together.
This guy would make a good mad scientist
Hello Mike. What do you suggest for Hotel bed inspection and money identification? I am between one of those portable fluorescent you showed and a 51 LED UV torch. Which are the benefits between the two?
Thank you.
I wish I knew about this before I bought my crappy "blacklight" from the Halloween store...
Will the party backlight sets work well for party room with 100 guests? I will also have interesting UV deco on the walls. Will 1 of those tubes be able to illuminate the wall decorations too? On a small budget here,
TY
Wow, natural salesman.
Always Be Closing :)
im designing my room to be a complete blacklight city! im getting blacklight posters, paint, tape and using the tonic water trick :) my room is 130inches x 140inches. would that long fluorescent bulb you talked about work, i dont want any spaces in room where the blacklight cannot reach??? great video btw, awesome showman skills aha
I want one of the lights you reccomended for the hotel haha. What specific type should I look for? do you sell them?
Whew, I'm sure glad I picked a fluorescent black light instead of the incandescent ones before I noticed that the incandescent ones suck you should also mention that the incandescent ones also get very hot and they don't last very long, btw the way you were describing the incandescent ones cracked me up.
Mike I just love your shows and live in Canada and asked you if you shipped here but it was the cost of the Moon so I gave up but since then I have visited our very own "Spirit Halloween" store and just love it. as well on Line is great too but I did find out of one other substance which Glows great under UV and it's liquid Laundry detergent. I saw a Tutorial on spider webs for Haunting and this fellow dipped his cord he used into this and it glowed like crazy. the only thing is I set up my web BEFORE I dabbed this on and WOW does it Glow!!
If I were to purchase Glow-On and use the blacklight to 'recharge' the dimmed out gel, would it do just that and recharge the Glow-On to its full glow?
I am looking for UV lights to harden doming epoxy. But its a pain to get answers.
What lights work for this process. Its just UV lighting that I need.
Hey Mike, what kind of light do you have (if any) to use as a strobing black light? Which is best for that type of application?
what kind of blacklight is best for an open area?
My question is I was going to get floresint facepaint and point black lights directly at my face for a few hours do I have to worry about harming my skin or eyes.
can you tell me what Watts or volts I should look for? Because I see some 48'' tube with different speck on the voltage. I see those little bulbs with 60Watts much more than some 48''
what kind of stores sell these type of lamps?
I need a very small black light that would fit into a display base that is round and about 5 inches across and one inch tall. I plan to set a bottle of liquid on it and I want to create the illusion of the contents glowing of their own accord, so just hanging a light on the ceiling is not a good solution. Do you know of any products that would do what I need? Either an already constructed base, or something i could fit into my current base would be perfect.
Question. Can too much exposure to low levels of UVA light cause cataracts? I know UVB does, but what about party blacklights?
@MSDJALC That does kinda, I was more wondering wich would be the best to use for a haunted house... would love to have some DMX controlled "black" and ergular strobes to alternate... :) In my mind it would look cool... sometimes I get a little over zealous about those things though... Thanks for the info!! :)
this guy is so cool
I have a many black light!
* 48" fluorescent blacklite
* 18" fluorescent blacklite
* 21 watt blacklite circlite
* 2 small blacklites with battery
can uv find faded writing on a document and if so what is the best to find pencil and pen writing on the back of an old photo?
