Hummingbird cake is Jamaican . 🥰 banana-pineapple spice cake originating in Jamaica . 🇯🇲 Hello to all my west indies Caribbean people. 🇬🇩🇹🇹🇧🇧🇬🇾🇱🇨🇻🇨 💃🏿🌺🌼🌸Created in Jamaica where the dessert is called doctor bird cake, it is named after the island's national bird, the scissors-tail hummingbird (locally known as the doctor bird). In 1968, the Jamaica Tourist Board exported the recipe for hummingbird cake, along with other local Jamaican recipes, in media press kits sent to the USA. The marketing was aimed at American consumers to create interest in visiting the island. [4]

B&BW refusing to put bananas in again even though that's featured more prominently in an actual hummingbird tea cake than cinnamon sends. Still, it's a beautiful candle.

This one will be going in my cart first sale. We need a candle sale so I can try the new spring candles! Thanks for the review Bonnie! In West Texas where I grew up, it’s pronounced “puh -KAHN”, it’s our state tree. But I have heard people up north say it the way you do. Especially here in Maryland they say it like you. It’s a regional thing, no right or wrong way to say it .😊

Do they not having hummingbird cake up north? They are very popular in the south. It’s basically a spiced pineapple cake.

I really can't believe they made hummingbird tea cake a cinnamon pecan scent with some pineapple thrown in... so strange to me. EDIT: I was wrong! This is exactly what this scent should have been, Hummingbird cakes exist IRL and are a jamaican dessert with things like pecans, pineapple, cinammon, and bananas. :)
