    I've had mine for 3 months and on the whole pleased with it, except the lane keep assist I find very intrusive, but can be switched off every time you use the car, but my main gripe is, NO rear wiper and in bad weather this is really needed, but this car is loaded with tech and tells me off for no reason when passing a car

    Never owned an electric car, but just seen the lease deal for this,, and it looks amazing for less than 200 a month. Just out of interest. I have to make a motorway journey once every 2 months. Driving around 60-65 on the motorway... distance is 110miles... I would assume even with music playing and heating on, the Plus version (not the pro) would manage to do it with no issues, right?

I just find it mind boggling that with all the tech that comes as standard, and with 2 wirecharging points *amazing... that it doesn't have Apple Carplay or Android Auto. Ah, I have tried and tried to find out how much the connectivity cost is after the initial 18 months with the car... no one, not even my local dealer, could tell me

    We had one for a 24 hour test. Liked the interior, unlike some others, there's plenty of space for rear seat passengers.
    However, downsides were no heated seats, no heated steering wheel and compared to the price in China and against competition, it's at least £15,000 over priced. For the same price, a better overall package is a used Tesla Model 3.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Год назад +1

      Interesting, we had heated and massaging seats as well as the heated steering wheel, prices massively vary however China variants are a different kettle of fish due to the UK regulations. Ours was a First Edition - thank you DJ

    • @djtaylorutube
      @djtaylorutube Год назад +1

      @@PlanetautoUK I've just had a mooch on their site, the First Edition Plus does indeed now feature heated seats and steering wheel. Those were definitely lacking at that price point in the first release.
      I was just also looking on AutoTrader though and a 2016 (I know older!) Model S with free supercharing for life and £0 VED going forward can be had for as low as £19,000. Other than insurance, no costs.
      I did like the Ora Cat though, funky it certainly is and definitely is more spacious inside than many larger cars which tend to have a lower rear roofline.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Год назад +1

      It’ll be interesting to see what a 2nd gen offers, the S is a fantastic car, we drove one in 2017 it retailed for over £120k at the time, that sounds a deal and a half DJ, keep us posted on what you decide.

    • @djtaylorutube
      @djtaylorutube Год назад +2

      @@PlanetautoUK I probably won't as we're only into a year of the current car which is a Model Y. I was just looking out of interest and yes it's a stunning proposition though for people doing long trips which would cost nothing.
      We had a Leaf on a 2 year lease as a "test" in 2015 to 2017 and it was pretty much a Leaf or a Model S at that time and that was far beyond reach and calculating how many miles to make it worth it just didn't produce any sensible result. Now though? very different.

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  Год назад +2

      @djtaylorutube it’s amazing how much it’s changed, if you’ve got charging covered and you frequently motorway drive you’re sorted - we drove the latest leaf, fun car and il be sad to see it replaced as some type of an SUV variant, cars generally are fading out bar a few - the BYD Seal now have a look at that, we drove it last week what a car. 😀

    1. Too many functions are unnecessarily entrusted to touchscreens. I wonder how many people have to die on the road before automakers realize that touchscreens are distracting and dangerous.
    2. Windows controlled by voice commands? Seriously? How do I ask Laura to pick my nose?
    3. Those thick A pillars significantly reduce visibility and the driver can miss a pedestrian walking on the side. I have the same problem in my Chevrolet Bolt EV.
    4. Can't say I like the Big Brother's eye watching me from the A pillar. Is this feature built in all Cats or can a more democratic version be ordered?
    5. As far as I can see, the Funky Cat has no rear wiper. What an aristocratic whim. Why not get rid of one of the headlights?
    6. A sunroof would be a nice addition to the already exquisite interior.
    7. Otherwise, the car does look like a funky cat. 😀

    • @PlanetautoUK
      @PlanetautoUK  5 месяцев назад

      Exhaustive somewhat… a little humour, wipers do lack on newer vehicles regardless of designation, voice commands and gesture handy and not mandatory 😎 a pillar the battle between safety and safety, cameras are more and more common, I think it’s in all. Touchscreens need basic functionality a rotary and few proper buttons. Sadly it’s now 03 not FC 🙂‍↕️ thank you for your interesting and entertaining comment, Hank wally wassis 😎
