- Today was our kiddos' first full day back in school! Definitely a lot to get used to, but all in all they enjoyed it and we are really excited to see all they learn this year!

Ahh I bet it was such a surreal moment with all the kids going back to school. I understand how tiring school is, and I hope penny and keira have a better time as the school year progresses. High school is very different experience for sure !
The first day of school is always the toughest, especially in middle and high school. As the school year progress and they join sports and clubs they will meet new friends.

Give them about 2 weeks, at the most, and they will all be normal (energy-wise). I used to teach and it took me and my students about that time to adjust after a long summer break. For most of your kids, it’s their first time in a school setting, so lots of things to absorb which depletes their energy. Cheers to a fabulous school year for everyone, including Mom & Dad!!

First day of school can be difficult. It takes a minute to get used to the new wake up schedule. Poor Ethan was exhausted.
WOW I can't believe how excited and anxious I am to have witnessed this day! For as long as Ive been watching yalls family channel, the norm has always been homeschool for the kids, so to see them ALL (with the exception of Reese) go off for their first day of public school is pretty huge. I really feel like Im a part of this family watching these kids grow lol. Theres a different kind of magic you guys bring to vlogs that I haven't experienced anywhere else. ❤️

Penny, Kiera and Ethan use to go to public school at the beginning. Penny loved school but Keira left to be home schooled. They all got homeschooled when they moved.

One of the funniest endings to a vlog I’ve seen in along time! Most of the family moping around like they’ve just run a marathon! Fabulous to see that Jude and my fave, Liam have some resilience about them. Some of the kids are gonna to struggle with mainstream school life, for sure.

I love your family ! Every time I’m going through a rough day I catch up to your videos, it sends so much loving and positive vibes !! Specially when I’m at work on my break time 💛 it’s nice taking a break from reality even if it’s for a couple minutes . I hope the girls enjoy high school! Word of advice- go to every dance and participate! Also did Keira get dress coded? I saw she had a skirt on, then changed to jeans. Hopefully the next week goes well for them. 💖

I would like to get a brief description from them and their different schools and their experience like an interview. I notice Penny was saying something but didn't get a chance to finish because Jude was so excited to say his part.

First day of school can be tiring, exciting, interesting and maybe even overwhelming. Once you get into a routine things will become easier. Very happy to hear that Liam, Jude and Ethan had a really good day. High school is a totally different experience and it can take time to adjust. I hope Linky gets better soon. He is such a sweetheart and his laughter is contagious. Amanda and Stephen--So glad you had a "breather" today! Parents need a break too! Big Hugs.

i still remember my first day of secondary school and my god was it traumatizing, cus where i was in primary school, once we were done with primary school, we would be assigned to a secondary school but i opted for a different one and when you're the new kid, everyone has their own pact, their own group of friends and me being the only one who was different, first day i was kinda tossed around , kinda picked on being the new new kid, but not to the level of bullying, more like isolation so it was rough. it was until the third year of secondary school where i made some friends.

Awwh, hope little Lincoln recovers soon. I think he loved having Amanda and Stephen all to himself for a bit! I'm actually really excited to see the kids develop in school and that Amanda and Stephen get some time to themselves! You're great parents. Poor Ethan was exhausted.. It was really sweet how he was laying his head on Jude's lap and then Kiera's. And even sweeter how he was sleeping with Liam in his bunk! Wow, there is so much love between all these siblings. I don't have such a relationship with my sibling or know many siblings who get along so well. You've done a great job of nurturing love between them. I see a lot of parents say "Well, I can't force them to get along.. they're just too different" but they don't even try. It IS a parent's job to give their all to ensuring their children love each other because they'll always be there even when the parents pass on.

I miss high school and seeing my friends and the nice teachers, I didn't get to have a senior prom in 2020. Now I'm a sophomore in college, which is still online, does not compare to actually going on campus. I loved how happy they were about going to school though :)
I really believe that the teachers in the US are nicer than in Germany and the school system is generally more child-friendly. I wish everyone a wonderful start to school.

It is hard starting back to a regular school when you are use to being home schooled. My kids have been out of school for a year in a half and starts back to normal school on the 24th. The kids looks so happy but of course tired
We are in the same scenario here, my heart is so conflicted right now, last time they attended in person, I had lunch daily with our youngest who has autism, now no one is allowed at lunch...trying to take it one day at a time 🙏

First days of school remind me of first days of new jobs. Overwhelming and the feeling of..OK I WANT MY OLD JOB BACK😅
THEN it becomes familiar and routine and you settle in and "belong".

I am in high school and going into my senior year like Reese . I go to a public school and I can honestly say high school has changed my life I went in with negative expectations because that’s all I heard . Went in and was supper active as far as clubs , sports . I made lots of amazing people by joining those clubs and sports but I loved every bit of it so I say find something you love and everything will fall in line . I am kinda sad that it’s almost over but because of the opportunities I was given in high school I know that after high school I will be fine .

Genuine question and not intended as snarky. I love that you share your beautiful family and think you guys are lovely people. I couldn't help but wonder whilst watching this how I would have felt on my first day back at school to have my own parents view me through a camera lense for the purpose of the world to see. How do you balance that as a parent? The want to engage fully with your kids during these special moments and retain their privacy at these precious vulnerable ages against the need to create content for what is now an income and essentially part of your work. I assume as it's a fairly new concept it comes with lots of learning curves along the way! I am sure it is a difficult balance to strike and I would love to hear you both talk about it.❤️
The kids are used to being on camera for many events and holidays and normal days already. Have been for awhile now. The amount of time they were filmed for first day of school was not that long. I don't think it would phase them at all. A lot of my family and friends post first day of school pics on Facebook. JMO though.
@@-greentoad thanks for sharing your opinion and as with all things we will all make differing decisions in life and truly it is what feels comfortable for us and our families and exploration can sometimes feel like critique when it isn't intended too.
I think photos outside the door ready to face the world and the silently filmed stuff sort of far back was lovely and felt non intrusive.
I guess I was feeling out in my mind that if I was a pre- teen on my first day of school, returning to education, would I want new classmates to know I slept in the bed with my little brother? Or for the girls who seemed a little flat and drained from their first daunting day to be explaining how it went to a camera and not just my parents but thousands of people. Maybe the kids are used to it and it doesn't bother them or do they not know any different?
That's why I thought it would be interesting to hear how the Millers feels about it and manage it. It's an ever changing world ❤️

We’ll you we’ll have to set early bedtime for some of the ones who tire easy. I had to set a bed time for my son when he was in grade school because he needed extra sleep. 7pm
My son I adopted and had special needs. But later he went to bed at 8 pm when in junior high.
First days are so fun.
