Such a fascinating explanation of desire. It’s so important to understand that lust itself is a perverted reflection of divine love. If we can recognize our constitutional positions as the servants of God then we can experience true satisfaction that comes from fulfilling our true purpose.
Divine love is a force that transcends all earthly desires and attachments, guiding us towards our true nature. Embracing divine love empowers us to overcome anger, greed, and other negative tendencies, leading us on a path of compassion, empathy, and fulfillment. May we all strive to cultivate this divine love within our hearts, for it holds the key to a life of true joy and liberation. In today's video lecture, Swami Ji will explain its intricacies.
This is such a vicious trap - desire, greed, anger. We will need to be prepared to deal with these and learn to subdue these constantly. Not an easy endeavor.
What a beautiful question as to how can one rise above material attachments and aversions! The force of such desires is very strong because we are all constitutionally positioned toward experiencing the divine love of God but have not yet reached that stage. Thus, the force of attachment has converted into material lust. Wow, thank you, Swamiji.
1) Divine love is eternal, ever fresh, infinite, unconditional, selfless and perfect. It has the tendency to give, give and give happiness to the beloved without seeking anything in return. 2) True 3) B 4) A So wonderful explanation by Swamiji!
Fantastic video with clear cut logical explanations. Maya is also trying to take us towards the God. Since we think we are "free to enjoy", we commit bad Karmas.
Temporary satiation and fulfilment of a desire only leads to more desires, just like pouring fuel on fire. Desires can never be fully satiated, there is no end to desires, they only keep increasing, the more we indulge them. This leads us to more greed, anger, and lust...and we get trapped in addictions and cravings for all kinds of enjoyments and temptations of the senses. The only way to control and conquer these desires is to avoid or gradually reduce contact of the senses with the objects of desires, (control and eventually kill our desires for tasty food, music, and other enjoyments of the senses) and gradually transform / sublimate these desires towards God through wisdom, devotion, and service of God.
i can just add, that life for women is not the same as life for men. get out and walk alone and peaceful in nature and look what will happen. or try to travel alone. even spiritual journeys through beautiful landscapes will not be ultimately safe, and you can tell what you want but for women, life on this planet is just DIFFERENT 💔
and, why do we have bodies, if ér should love god. when you die, your spirit goes straight to god probably, so we do not need any body for loving god. and as if our senses were sinful. they just connect us with our surrounding. we are part of the planet, it gives senses, this for sure is not bad. i only want to die actually because of lack of peace and joy. this would not be the case of i was an animal. they esteem and enjoy what mother earth gives them, they do not question it. my main problem are not my lust, but my hurted feelings. and that people (gods???) do not suffer to see you when you are deeply happy. because they are envious
