Trick Daddy opened up about his upbringing in a large, complex family. His mother had 11 children by 10 different men, while his father also had 12 children. The total number of siblings and half-siblings he grew up with amounts to more than 20, and he stated that he knows and recognizes all of them. However, he shares that the family isn't as close-knit as it was in the early eighties and nineties due to scattered holiday celebrations. Despite having attended 15 public schools due to frequent relocations, Trick Daddy owes his social adaptability to these experiences. He also expressed his belief that this large and diverse family environment shaped him as an individual and has influenced his approach to the music industry.

Trick is an absolute legend. I went to one of his shows some time in the early 2000s and it really stuck out to me when he started performing back to back hits none stop
Trick said that right, anyone his age and a little older remembers those good days when family meant a whole lot. Now families are so fractured, that it seemed like when grandpa and grandma passed away, the whole thing fell apart. Worse yet, it seemed to me it was all about their kids, my uncles and aunt's greed. As a result, the family was no longer. I would like to see all that come back because it really was a special thing. Don't get me wrong there are still those out there that do stay close but I believe the majority fall into the aforementioned category.

Since I lost both of my Grandmothers it had been nothing but division on BOTH sides of my fam because Grandma is like the only person in the family that everybody always wanted to see lol and Grandma just doesn't have any beef with anybody so everybody showed up to her house and if two cousins were therw that didn't like eachother they wouldn't speak, or one would come when the other wasn't there. It's crazy and sad how it is.

This is kinda sad. Mom is not willing to be transparent with her children?? You have 20 siblings but she's not even gonna allow you to ask about it. Man I'm glad I have the mom I have. My mom is a single mother and growing up I always thought she was tough and mean. But as the years went on I understood that it wasn't to hurt me. She wanted better for me in her own way. As I got older she became transparent and showed me that she was human at the end of the day.
