That very much sounds like the story I found in doing research on my family ancestors. My ancestor went through the same thing and his last name was Green. I can't remember the first name--but have it somewhere in my research. Amazing !!!!! I think they are one in the same. But in my story, Daniel Boone after hearing the story from the man who left him--He went out looking for the man, Green (my ancestor) and found him alive and that he had indeed killed the bear and saved himself but was weak & Daniel had brought him back to the camp.

I knew the quote at the beginning of this vid as "I can't say as ever I was lost, but I was bewildered once for three days." Similar. Either way, great quote.
The town of Wilsonville in Oregon was originally called Boone’s Landing because of of Boone’s Ferry operated by Daniel Boone’s grandson and great grandson Alphonso and Jesse Boone. The they both went to the California gold fields where the elder died. The younger came back to Oregon and operated the ferry and Blazed Boone’s Ferry Road from to Salem to Portland. He was eventually murdered by his neighbor as he was at his ferry on the South Bank of the Willamette River. His neighbor said Boone had been killing his sheep, but the rest of the town said that wolves had killed the sheep and not Boone. The ferry remained in operation until It was replaced by Boone Bridge, and Interstate 5 in 1956 if I recall correctly. Several of Boone’s decedents made one last trip on the Ferry before it shut down. Boone’s Ferry Park sits on the north bank side of the river where the ferry was.
Boone always claimed his birthday to be October 22, 1734, which it actually was according to the "old calendar." He didn't abide the change to the new calendar changing his actual birth date, as many didn't at the time. (In the American colonies, where they were a little late in coming around to the new calendar, they added 11 days to get in sync. In Europe, because they accepted it years earlier, they only had to add 10 days.) Also, the Battle of Blue Licks, where Boone lost his youngest son, Israel -- shot through the neck -- happened much later than the Siege of Boonesborough. Blue Licks was August 1782. The Siege of Boonesborough was in 1778.
I own and live in the oldest home still standing in my hometown of Havre, Montana. It's the picture I use for my avi. They moved to Evanston, Illinois, where they built a beautiful white Colonial Revival style home and lived there until their deaths; Mr. Boone in 1946 and Mrs. Boone in 1971. I am going to guess you are kinfolk of Mr. Boone's. I have a book titled 'Daniel Boone and the Hunters of Kentucky" published in 1870, written by W. H. Bogart. Never had the time to read it (464 pages). Will find the time now. Hope this finds you well.
I basically spent my childhood at this home until '58. This was Daniel's son Nathan's as he had come ahead and built it. Nathan's sister and my grandmother Susanna was across the road. This house is where grandfather passed and was buried next to grandma Becky. They were moved to Frankfort as an honor, but it wasn't. Daniel did not have a good memory of Kentucky.
We like to lionize Boone, but the fact is that he moved his family to the frontier and left his wife to raise his children largely by herself. She was surrounded by hostile natives, and she and her children had to survive without Daniel’s presence most of the time. For years he returned home only long enough to impregnate his wife again. Daniel is not the hero, his wife is.
I have now produced a one-hour powerpoint video titled "Daniel Boone: A Life at the Edge of Civilization" uploaded to my RUclips channel (search: Edward Dodson).
Probably. But Rebecca Bryan Boone, his wife, was an ancestor of my wife's mother. Boone also blazed a trail West from my hometown, where some of Rebecca's family lived.

Shiral Boone
the video is certainly correct. he died at his son's home
@@peterlynch8478 why not a good memory of ky? these comments are fascinating to me. my husband watches old daniel boone tv show daily!
👍👍
wow!
I pray that sick people don't use these pictures to radar damage to your property or other peoples property... Sick people hurt people...
Not what he said, he said - " I've never been lost but a mite confused"... This political correctness is getting way out of hand...
I may have misquoted but not out of a sense of political correctness. Maybe you should try producing something besides snarky comments.
Hi Daniel
Daniel is dead
:(
the people that dont like history dislike and are not educatade well
So, Boone didn't really live in this house.
Not as it stands now. The only remaining portion is the springhouse foundation below the left side of the building.
exactly @fideau
does Daniel Boone have family to this day
Probably. But Rebecca Bryan Boone, his wife, was an ancestor of my wife's mother. Boone also blazed a trail West from my hometown, where some of Rebecca's family lived.
country Cox A Story Told through my late husband is that His Grandmother (Mary Zanderle Boone) was a Decendant of The Boone Family. Haven't found any Documentation for That yet. She married a Kennedy and still has One Child Living. My Children's 93 year old Grandmother. I wish She would Tell Them Something about the Mystery that I can't Find..
country Cox I am a second cousin to Daniel Boone. A few generations down the road. We share a grandfather and Squire would have been an uncle to me had I lived in Daniels time
yes........lots of them as well as his brothers and sisters have descendants....I am just one of them.
He is my 7th great grandfather. Jemima had 14 children and my great grandmother was a calloway!
BUT THE BEAR WAS BIGGER
So??? The original homestead was where? Terrible way to start a video.
Simply assume
We forget about the women behind the men during that time. Rebecca Boone gave birth to ten children. She raised them mostly alone because Daniel was gone a lot. Home long enough to impregnate her, then off again.
He owned slaves!!!!!
Many people did throughout all of history and even though it is horrific it is still history and is there so we never make the same mistake twice. It is there to learn from.
