News you can use:
- In case you can't tell, I'm not a professional gift-wrapper. I'm just some goober on the internet. Anybody who criticizes my gift-wrapping is going to get goosed by a very grouchy elf. Unless you're coming to my house to wrap all these presents for me, please just...don't say it. I suggest you take your talents and wrap some beautiful presents for folks in need in your area.
- Yes, there are a lot of cuts in this video. I know a lot of y'all hate that. Have you ever recorded yourself while wrapping gifts? It's surprisingly loud, no matter how hard you try to do it quietly. You'll hear a lot of very sharp, harsh sounds that you wouldn't really expect. Some people don't mind them; some people do. Wrapping paper is almost impossible to handle quietly, especially the heavy-duty, thick paper that I use in these videos. Since I can't please everybody, I cut out the stuff that I don't like. I do what I want.
- Cutting out the cutting of the paper is necessary. No, I won't leave it in. Again, it's extremely harsh and loud. Somebody's always going to be unhappy no matter what I do.
- Yes, the instructions stated that all gifts should be wrapped. Some organizations ask that you bring them unwrapped gifts, but not this one.
- Yes, there will be one more of these videos tomorrow. This is a series. I had a total of five Angel Tree kids to buy and wrap gifts for. I won't be showing all of the gift-wrapping because it would literally take HOURS to do it all in a video. I have to wrap presents very slowly for these videos, and it's a bit maddening after a while. In real life, I wrap about three times the speed that you see here. As much as I enjoy it, I do have other things that I need to get done every day. (Also, that table is a bit too low and gives me a killer back ache after about 30 minutes.)
- I do the tape and wrapping paper in the way that suits me best. Whatever way works for you is the right way for you to do it. That applies to me, too. (You’d never believe how loud tape can be.)
- The Angel Tree process is anonymous, both for the giver and the receiver. I’ll never know who they are, and they’ll never know who gave the gifts.
- The Angel Tree kids who aren't selected do receive something for Christmas. The organization provides at least one gift for every child, whether someone chooses them or not. I would love to help more if I had the money and the time, but at least we were able to help five this year, which is awesome!
- Yes, I will get back to making other types of videos soon enough. I've been making RUclips videos for over seven years and currently have over 3,300 videos available here for your viewing pleasure. - This list is not intended to be mean or snarky. It is compiled of the most common issues that crop up every year when I wrap presents. I find that addressing things upfront in a pinned comment cuts way back on the problems in the comment section and makes the experience much more enjoyable for you AND me.

I feel sorry for anyone who feels the need to criticize your wrapping skills. There are much more important things that they could be doing...like taking a course in manners...like just stfu and skip on by your videos. You are awesome at what you do and those of us that love your videos just watch, listen and relax. Bah humbug to those grinches that only have negative things to say.

That's because I pinned a comment this year, Sierra. Literally every other year I've done stuff like this, people complain/nitpick/criticize the things I mentioned in the pinned comment. Calling it out right up front has cut that down to basically none...which is why I decided to pin a comment this year!
Mary, I’ve been so impressed and inspired watching you do this last year and this year. So I went and got an angel, a 10 year old girl. I’ve got all her shopping done besides her clothes, which I will finish today (Tuesday). I also love the stocking idea so I put one together, too. I feel so blessed to be able to do this, and I’m grateful that you have done several videos regarding this need. I was sad to learn (but not surprised) from the lady I spoke with that people will come get a list then never return with gifts and won’t respond when they try to call to see what’s going on. Thankfully, they have a plan in place for when this happens. People that do that are absolutely pathetic! Anyway, thanks for shining a BRIGHT light on this. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to give a child you’ll never meet a magical Christmas morning. Merry Christmas and God bless!

Yeah - I often wonder if everyone who takes an angel actually buys them stuff. I would feel terrible, taking one and then not doing anything, so the angel wasn't on the tree for someone responsible to take it. I guess everybody doesn't feel that way, which sucks! Why take an angel if you're not going to do anything with it? People drive me crazy.

I can never see this to the end. Your voice is just so relaxing that It just lulls me to sleep.

Wrapping gifts is so relaxing to me. I do it all the time just for fun. I’m sad because I won’t be wrapping gifts this year as we are traveling for Christmas to sunny Florida. 🌞

I don't get cuts from wrapping presents; however, I did somehow manage to cut myself while trying to pull the lid off a single serve plastic container of wet cat food the other day. LOL
My five year old niece loves Barbie. So I had purchased her the Barbie doll that comes with a fiat car. I know she’ll love it.

According to the pinned comment, the Angel Tree process is anonymous. I bet most of the kids don't even know they're an Angel Tree kid. I live in a huge area, and there are literally thousands of Angel Tree kids in this city. The odds of the kid actually seeing this and knowing it's for them is microscopic. It's a chance I'm willing to take.

Is it possible for you to set up a go fund me or maybe and Amazon wishlist that we could put money towards I’m not sure how that stuff works but maybe you could help more angels on the tree? Shame you didn’t do the big presents, see if you had as much difficulty as I did wrapping my daughters who asked for a full sized piano keyboard.
The darn thing is almost as tall as me, I had to use a coffee table to lift it off the floor to get the paper under it.
It was too heavy to have it lying horizontally, so had to wrap it vertically.
I don’t mind saying , the language that came out of my mouth 😅. The sweating, the backache.
Wasn’t pretty lol
And I bet with all the ribbon and pretty bow she has it ripped open in seconds.
When I saw the telescope, microscope and binoculars set, I giggled and thought …. Although nowhere near as big, that’s going to be a right arse to wrap! I cannot wait to see her do that without losing her temper…. And you’ve not videoed it lol
Still, probably for the best. Not sure it would of come under the ASMR title lol

The really big presents are hard to wrap on camera. It's really noisy - much more so than the smaller ones - and just cumbersome and irritating, whether I do it in a video or not.
