      This interview points out that the West is trying to fight Russia with sanctions while Ukraine is fighting this war with people.

      This invasion will ultimately destroy Putin and Russia will collapse with him. The worry is the Russian people have been trained to ignore and even expect brutality all round including the government. What follows could make Mad fiefdom look gentle.

      If you appreciate Konstantin as much as I do, you might also like the Russian RUclipsrs "Zack the Russian" and "NFKRZ" ... Zack's still extremely young - 21 years I believe - he had just arrived back "home" to Russia from his time as an US exchange student, shortly before Russia invaded Ukraine.
      Feeling it's his duty to stand up against that bs, bc he had learned in America, that people have the right to say "NO" to injustice, he went out on the 24th of February 2022 to join the anti-war protesters in Moscow, (which btw is full of surveillance cameras), so Russian police chased him and he had to flee Russia to the country Georgia/Tbilisi ... he has an aunt living in the US, so he's lucky to be back in college there now ... he doesn't post often, but when you watch him you'll quickly realize he's wise beyond his age and at least to me he appears to be much older due to his mature personality.
      & "NFKRZ" uses lots humour to show, how backwards Putin's Russia has become ... both speak almost perfect English and are absolutely worth watching.

      Yeah, I initially thought he'd be a source for insight into the grip of Putin's propaganda, especially after his sarcastic invasion video (which he has left up for transparency).
      But having seen his journey through the invasion starting, monitoring his language until he (and his family were) was safe enough to actually speak his mind, his acceptance of his personal & other Russians' responsibility for letting their country get to where it is today, and heartfelt apologies to the people of Ukraine and efforts to build bridges with those people and other like-minded Russians, I think I misjudged him and very much appreciate his info from sources that aren't reported on in the western media (especially the new Friday news streams).
      Am curious to know what his secret project behind the scenes is, but if it's what I think it is, I'm rooting for great success.

    Very very moving outro after a deeply interesting interview. Despite great years, I have only recently learnt that Germany's Chancellor, Willy Brandt, started the long long long process of Germany's "rehabilitation" into the democratic world, as it were, by kneeling before a war memoral, I think, and apologising for the crimes committed by his countrymen WW2. It was just a miniscule beginning and how young Germans have suffered as a result of the sins of their fathers, just as Russia will. I fear deeply for the future of my half Russian little grandson. It has to start with comprehension, kneeling and humility. Will that ever happen? Jane Soole, Dorset, England.

    • @BluffyMoo
      @BluffyMoo Год назад +3

      Very good read, Jane. I agree with your position. The same thing is taking place in S. Korea and Japan as well. It starts with both the leadership atoning for past aggressions. In Russia , unfortunately too many Russians feel powerless and are apolitical in nature. However, I wholeheartedly believe that once the Cold War mindsets of the older generations go by, the younger generations will right the ship, akin to the younger generations of Taiwanese in their view of mainland China.

    • @SiliconCurtain
      @SiliconCurtain  Год назад +10

      It’s not looking good at the moment. Russia never really atoned for the crimes of its empire- the USSR… and there was no attempt at proper ‘lustration’…

    • @grahamstrouse1165
      @grahamstrouse1165 Год назад +7

      @@SiliconCurtainRussia’s also a far less coherent nation than Japan or Germany ever was-and Germany is a very young country. The Russian Empire has always been a massive crazy quilt of disparate peoples who don’t have a lot in common save for rough geographic continuity. America has that problem to some extent, btw, and is part of the reason why we frequently go throught stretches where half the country wants to kill the other half. There’s a difference in degree here, though.
      Russia is massive, but. for the most part, very sparsely populated-The country did not lose all that much territory, relatively speaking, when the USSR broke up. It did lose half its population, though, and that half included most of the nation’s young, educated people. Now Russia’s a country that crosses 11 time zones but doesn’t have a population that much larger than Japan’s.
      This is my long-winded way of saying that a popular uprising seems unlikely to me because Russia has never really existed as a single cohesive population.

    • @mgt2010fla
      @mgt2010fla Год назад

      When the population centers of Russia start getting sent to the Ukrainian front you will see movement among the young people, just like 1917. Using the people from urban Russia as cannon fodder will be the trip wire and that's Putin's problem. He needs more bodies and he is running out of prisoners and non-Russian Russians!@@grahamstrouse1165

    • @darlene2662
      @darlene2662 Год назад +1

      Konstantin would be the first to tell you he would never make a good politician. It’s because he does believe in democracy (operating the way it should) the ways and reality of being a politician operate in a much different way than one might think ( in most if not all countries who are democratic) Konstantin is not selfish, he leans far more to the selfless side. He cares and wants to help effect change for the better. And you are right he is intelligent and well educated and well read. I think he has found his calling, he is an excellent economist and has a long good career. I believe he shines in this capacity and really does help people understand what is really going on in Russia. He spent 9 or so years in the USA and learned a lot. He has excellent insight and can articulate it in a very good way. When he talks he conveys thoughts as if he is English. It’s his second language but communicates as he is thinking and forming things to communicate to his audience like a native born English person. This is no small feat. The US is at a crossroads in their democracy. Years of foreign interference and dissemination of half truths, outright lies and sowing strife and division via the internet media has taken hold of many people there and they will have to fight hard to get across to people the truth of what is trying to tear their country apart. Nothing would please their enemies more. They are creating factions that are far apart and need to come back to truth and basics and get back to rightly conducting good government on the behalf of the people they are supposed to represent. Pray for all my friend that people come to understand the truth and how to come back to what is right and just. Only God and themselves can make a difference. And only if they CARE.

    I can tell there's a lot Konstantin would have liked to say but time was limited. He also knows a lot about power struggles and politics of Russia, which for many people is a grey area. And he definitely knows how to read between the lines of government statements.

    Just saw a video by an American walking around free in Moscow(which should of been my first clue. He was walking into a mall in Russia and the message was see, everything is normal. The sanctions are not working. I am sure it was a Russian propaganda piece diguised as a travel log.

    Konstansin is an articulate and brave man. He has guts and I respect him immensely. It is easy for us in the so called west, where it is easy to complain without consequences to criticize Russians. The problem at the moment is that we are making the same mistake. Forget Russia and and a pointless war. The good life and economical justice means cooperation. Including co-operation between Ukraine and Russia

      YES IT IS A NICE THOUGHT BUT IT IS NOT REALISTIC, ZOMBIES HAVE BEEN BRED FOR GENERATIONS, THEY ARE BRED TO BE "FAR FROM POLITICS" WHAT IS NEEDED IS A REBELLION THAT STARTS WITH DESTROYING THEIR CCTV CAMERAS AND THEN DISMANTLES THE ENFORCERS OF THE STATE. IF IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED BY NOW, THEY ARE ALL CULPABLE, EVEN BY APATHY. THEY WILL PAY THE REPARATIONS AT 50% OF THEIR GDP FOR THE NEXT 150 YEARS. AFTER ALL THEY ARE USED TO IT, CURRENTLY THEY PAY THAT TO THE COSA NOSTRA PUTIN REGIME OF NOMINEE DIRECTORS AKA OLIGARCHS. KON IS A COWARD JUST AS ARE THE OTHER 4 MILLION WHO LEFT RUSSIA NOT IN DISGUST AT WHAT THE NAZI RUSSIANS WERE DOING BUT FOR THEIR OWN SELF INTEREST - FEAR OF BEING MOBILISED AND JOINING THE 259,000 DEAD RUSSIANS.

    The video of the "plan crash" I saw was very good. It showed everything. How is it possible, that some random individual, would have their camera trained on the event, as it happened? For me that alone is suspicious. I'm definitely having ideas. Ruzzian Theater 🎭 Dramatic and Brutal. Filled with deception, intrigue, fantasy and betrayal. Pliable reality, and flexible narrative, Ruzzia Compass Spinning, not direction to be found. Regardless, Ruzzia is on its inevitable last ride.

    Jonathan, the cemetery you visited in Lviv is named LYCHAKIV. It has both Soviet and Ukrainians buried in the old walled/gated area. Where you were is outside that area and is only for Ukrainian veterans/soldiers. I was there 2 years and there were about 8 graves of old veterans. Thank you for all your contributions to helping Ukraine at this time.

      Thank you. The soviet graves had that mass, impersonal feel - which always made me think they were a memorial to an idea, not a person. The new graves are shocking, because each soldier is so clearly a person, and honoured as such.
