Past Alear said their siblings were torn to shreds by corrupted which is why they hate them.
That whole Fell Dragons only born as Twins is only in the Fell Xenologue. And in that world, Alear is the biological child of Lumera aka the Divine Dragon therefore an only child. The only thing that changes is their gender which is always opposite to the gender of the Alear you choose.
@@IamCanadian3333alear is the child of sombron tho? It is explained that fell dragons summon the emblems, which is what alear has been doing the entire game, without mentioning we have a chapter to explain that, which concluded in alear being sombron's daughter but then meeting lumera
@@norio9600 That is the case only in the main Engage world (aka the one we playthrough in the normal campaign). In the Xenologue world, the Alear of that world is actually Lumera's biological child.
Better to say in the Alternative Xenologue, Alt Veyle who does exist as Mauvier was formerly her knight had a Twin, seeing how she was alive, that twin was dead, yet she was still like the Veyle of the main story verse (while having Past Alear's BAD experience being their father's FORCED Top enforcer) sadly her story ended in her death unlike Alear's who was redeemed by Lumera. But she had a HUGE effect on Mauvier who defected IMMEDIATLY from Sombron the moment she died (exactly as his main story self did when she was in harms way) And when Alear mentioned their siblings, they were referring to younger AND older siblings! The Younger ones likely older then Veyle to be "useful" and I believe Sombron was responsible for a few of those deaths as well. Got to relook that boss dialogue between Alear vs Past to be sure. But I believe it was said! Frankly no matter what dimension, Sombron seems DOOMED to always make the WORSE life choices without giving TWO FLYING FUCKS who he hurts (Alt Sombron feels WORSE, at least Main Story Sombron wanted to find a long lost parental figure, Alt Sombron was simply a spiteful bastard who refused to cooperate with his counterparts and started a war to take over! No matter what Sombron is essentially a Selfish Petty Prick! The type who KNOWS everyone WILL celebrate his death when it comes because of his bad life choices, but doubles down in making the same mistakes OVER and OVER again out of SHEER pride and stubbornness to learn or even ATONE)
I feel it's better that way to leave it as the "riddle of the ages" it is! Frankly like to feel the Emblem of Foundations was long dead and came to take Sombron to hell. Failing after everything, essentially making everything he did ALL FOR NOTHING and being PITY by his "defective children" who's "compassion and bonds" DID win out, proofing him not only WRONG in throwing those away, but forcing him to acknowledge that OBSESSING over Foundations means he was a hypocrite to what he BELIEVED everything he did was what Foundations would okay even though he HAD to have known Foundations would have likely FROWN upon the Evils he did uncaringly! Which is why he acknowledges the "Defect" was always himself and he cosigned himself to die alone, which he knew he rightfully deserved as he brought it on himself. And frankly I feel Foundations could represent the "Past Legends" of each Fire Emblem game each Emblem came from who were as Sombron described, Powerful and could do GREAT DEEDS by themselves, but ultimately died alone not having accomplished what they REALLY wanted to accomplish (Best example, Anri, Marth's Ancestor and the person you could say Ike's entire story felt familiar to! A Mere Commoner who rose to be a hero just to save the woman he loved, only to NOT get the girl, her to DIE in child birth, and him disappearing after leaving Falchion to his little brother, never to be seen again and his fate unknown)
Frankly what I like about the Twins is that they exist as MORE examples of how Sombron has NO excuse for being what he is! Rafal especially as just like him, he IS antisocial AND desires power. But difference is Rafal can actually admit when he fucked up and atone, while Sombron just doubles down and pulls the "don't care" card! Likely why when Rafal dies in his solo ending, he's at least remembered fondly, while Sombron becomes just a past memory everyone would LOVE to forget and can't forget soon enough! Veyle represented the fact that Fell Dragons are NOT naturally evil, Even Evil Veyle was nothing but a magically created personality (akin to an A.I. Construct becoming self-aware in a RESTRICTIVE manner where it's personality was made BEFOREHAND) that was MADE in the image and mentality Sombron FELT a Fell Dragon should act which is MORE proof that being evil is again, a CHOICE. Alear and Nel both show that ultimately HE drives his own away and in the case of Alear, he's a MASSIVE hypocrite whining about Alear turning on him when isn't a Fell Dragon suppose to "slay the weak" which they did when they took him down and not even because they wanted power, but because they want to live in peace with their adopted mother which can't happen as long as a POS like him exist. And Nel despite being the CLOSEST as his Heir, chose to forsake him for the sake of her brother then play his "game" (even HE realized this which is why he kept Rafal as BACKUP! Another reason Rafal hates the guy, especially taking into mind his Dragonstone was RIGGED to ASSURE he acts as he THINKS Rafal should act! All the proof Rafal needs to realize his father NEVER believed in him, in that he'd follow his will on his own and had to brainwash him to do it and take his choice away)
I do hope they will release a sequel/prequel/alternative game to expand on the lore, since there are many MANY plot holes in Engage's story, although I highly doubt a game like that will release. But, if you think about it, it's actually a common thing in FE games to have an expansion to the lore, story, worldbuilding and/or character's future in multiple games, almost every FE game has had a game like that, with the exception of the Sacred Stones, so if this one doesn't get an expansion, it would be the 2nd game to suffer that fate in 30+ years of story, that seems unlikely as well
