    70 pitches and the same 2 players walking back to back in the same inning twice that's crazy work.

  • @oldschoolben438
    @oldschoolben438 3 месяца назад +35

    The Jays are the baseball equivalent to hockey’s “passing it into the net”. Got players who can get on base, but no one who can get a hit, so I guess they gotta get 4 walks to score a run 🤷‍♂️. Remember - this was deliberate roster construction. They got rid of Teoscar and Gurriel Jr. and could have signed Teoscar this year. Their best hitter is Varsho who is hitting .210 as of today.

    • @oldschoolben438
      @oldschoolben438 3 месяца назад +9

      Also remember: the FO didn’t think Teoscar and Gurriel Jr. “played the right way”. I guess playing the right way is hitting near the Mendoza line 😂.

      Vlad is around 290 and IKF isn't that bad either

    • @oldschoolben438
      @oldschoolben438 3 месяца назад +2

      IKF’s OPS is .688 and his OPS+ is sub-100, and he’s probably the third best hitter on the team, which is not good. Vladdy has come on of late, but he’s still only .290 and on pace for less than 20 HR.

      This winter, J.D. Martinez was available to sign, and he is now raking in NY. Cody Bellinger was gettable until damn near opening day, they passed on him too. Santana before he joined Pittsburgh. And there were many, many others. Laureano just started in Atlanta. He would have been an improvement. Well we couldn't get Ohtani, they seem to have thought, but Kiner-Falefa & Turner & Vogelbach (god help us all) will get us the offense we need.

    The Blue Jays have the offensive power of a little league team. This season is a write-off. Other than the new players they have who show a lot of promise, there is not much to feel optimistic about the team - the offence is inconsistent at best, and the relief pitching is pathetic. The only acceptable quality is their defence.
