What are Principal Protected Notes?

  • Principal Protected Notes are a type of Structured Note that look to shield principal from loss, but still offer the opportunity for market participation. At a principal protected note's maturity, if the underlying asset price performance is positive, note holders would in turn participate in market gains. Participation levels can be capped or uncapped, and like most conventional Structured Notes, the specific participation levels and details are laid out in advance.
