Mayhem and Darkthrone truly had and have immense influence but the other two band logos that shaped the scene would.have to be Emperor and Xasthur imo

They certainly are as important as the 2 I mentioned on the video!

Whilst i still misread it, it's cool nonetheless.

Those are really bad logo designs. Do yourself a favor, try to cut a stencil for one of them. make a patch for your jacket, or airbrush one on your guitar case, then come back and tell me I'm wrong.

As someone who has had highly detailed logos turned into small patches, most of the times they simply end up being cleaned up for small merch related uses.

Have you seen Dödsrit, Mortifetum or Mare Cognitium's logos vs the patch version? Same principle can be applied here.

@@AvengedCreations never heard of them. maybe if they had good logos I would have? I've seen a whole lot of bad logos, not just in metal bands. I'm also old, so those bands may cater to a younger crowd, but I can name a few good logos that I'm sure you've seen. from how far away can you spot an AC/DC patch? how 'bout Pantera or Ozzy Osbourne? Rob Zombie? They all have really recognizable logos that you can actually read from a loooong way away, and can easily draw with a fat maker, stencil for a spray can, or stitch a patch of. Good logo design is not easy.

I totally get your point but the principles applied on those logos don't really belong in extreme metal or you rarely see something similar and also don't see the point in naming regular rock and metal bands in a black metal related video.

@@AvengedCreations I don't see why black metal should be treated differently from anything else. Mainstream metal bands are successful because they got everything right. I'm old, but back in my day Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax were the extreme metal bands, and Rob Zombie was a nobody paining sets in the background on MTV. Now they are the old-heads keeping metal alive. Also, take a close look at Zombie's art. He's very good. I'm not knocking your art style. draw and paint what you like. I'm just offering a bit of advice from old guy who's been moshing and head banging since Quiet Riot were new guys, and drawing, painting , and sculpting just as long.
