More than a few videos ago you strode the bridge between woodworking and fine art. The panel is magnificent, and the frame you created for it is a wonder. I wouldn't dare presume to think I'd ever reach the level of skill you display, but this project has inspired me to head to my woodshop. For the 25+ years I've had a shop most of what has come from it is utilitarian for the house, our garden and farm. No longer. For the instruction, many, many thanks. For the inspiration and excitement multiply the thanks by many times. All best wishes!
Taeho and Club; I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to share your knowledge. I have learned so much watching this fantastic series. Congratulations on your project, and again thank you for sacrificing your time to educate others.
Just found your channel and I have to say, you sir are a true craftsman! Bought your plans just to support your work and can't wait to see what your next project will be.
Thanks again for this whole series! I got the plans and have already started practicing. Do you do in person Kumiko classes ever (non-covid times of course)? I would love to come take one!
Thank you so much, Molly. I'm having two workshops at Marc Adams School of Woodworking at coming August. One of the classes will be on Shoji Lamp Making which will have four panels with Kumiko. This will be my first Kumiko workshop, however, I'll be coming up with a couple more Kumiko classes in 2022.
@@WoodArtStudio1 I am heading back to Japan for Christmas this year and am taking a class on Japanese hand tools. I’m looking forward to that. Do you post your classes on your website? I’ll keep an eye out for them for sure!
I build this panel from Taeho plan. But now i am wondering what wood is used for the outer frame part with the miter and tenon ? And is there a name for this specific miter and tenon joint ? ( and a plan ? )
Very nice!! Well worth the wait and definitely worth watching more than once. Thank you for posting this. Was the first frame just a simple butt glue joint onto the edges of the hex grid or was it inset in a dado? I don't recall seeing any details about how that frame was done.
Thank you Randy. Yes, the first frame is just a butt joint with glue. Normally, bigger shoji frame is mortised into the frame but, the kumiko is so small, it's just a butt joint. Thanks again.
Thank you and sorry... It's not easy to find music that is not copyright. I'm definitely considering, hope to improve soon. Until then, you might wanna turn down or mute the volume. Thanks for watching. 🙏😂

Fantastic job! Your ark education shows in your work. The double bead really made the frame pop. Watching you use the tools is also an education.
Thank you very much Jim. The upcoming miter joint video will be really good video to learn.
An exceptional piece of work. Very very well done.

I used Alder wood for the frame. I hope to do a video on the outer frame someday...🤔

Why are you no longer making any new videos? Can you make one that bends into a box?
I've been so busy working alone after the pandemic due to the unwanted downsizing of my shop. I hope to get back to making videos consistently soon.
@@WoodArtStudio1 amazing looking forward to it. These are truly some beautiful works of art.
Thanks so much!!! @@amay167
what computer program you use???
SketchUp for the drawing, if that's what you're asking?

@@WoodArtStudio1 Plan for Mitered Through Mortise & Tenon Joinery??
Great series BUT you really need to adjust the sound track such it is not so repetitive - really obnoxious
