Hey everybody! I'm still working on the project that would allow to install M.2 SSD (NGFF or NVMe) into Xbox One X. I wish I had more time to do that, but anyway I'm not gonna give up on that project and I'll finish that video real soon, hopefully.
LIkely not much of chance for a NVMe drive will work on a console based around a sata3 controller, but then again I have not checked the controller chips in details to see if there are an NVMe PCI controller present, but your right - it looks to be very few discrete off the shelf components that are missing in that area,. (kudos for digging into it..!!) A question how many TB does Xbox One X support at once.? Is it 26TB or is it 18TB? I know Xbox One X is a pure pleasure to use with external SSD drives and the OS will accept at least 4 drives a once.. 3 external + 1internal. but to my understanding does each of the external have a limit at 8TB (sadly don't have any 8TB SSD to validate) and the internal at 2TB max, so in theory it should equal 26TB of possible SSD the One X would be able to handle at once..?.
