- In this 3ABN-produced program, Kenny Shelton considers the question put to Paul by the Philippian jailer, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30). Paul’s response was to “believe” on the Lord Jesus Christ, yet he wasn’t talking about mere mental ascent. Even the demons believe, and tremble. The enemy of our souls doesn’t care if we merely agree intellectually with God’s Word, as long as we don’t allow it to impact our thoughts and actions. While salvation is a gift of God’s grace and cannot be earned by works, obedience to God’s Word is the fruit of faith and love. Can we obtain eternal life if we ignore the convicting power of the Holy Spirit? If we are not convicted by truth, are we truly converted?

Oh, how Christ requires that we get there on our own (by way of our choices here), but this is a man who can point you to that narrow path . . . if we choose to go! Wow. What an amazing sermon and a very understanding man. I never thought about those non-salvational issues before, but he is right!
