Hi I am abit confused as what u suggested in this video contradicted what you advised in an earlier video, in which you mentioned that hydrogen water is complimentary to hbot Due to its anti oxidative effects.
Good question! There are times when a person would want to pretreat with antioxidants (which we covered in this video: ruclips.net/video/6-Hngrwirdo/видео.html), but unless you fall into that category, it's generally advised to NOT pretreat with antioxidants (things like vitamin C, selenium, glutathione, for example) before an HBOT session. Regarding hydrogen: I love hydrogen! It’s a great antioxidant, AND it tends to not OVER reduce like other antioxidants can. In other words, you can take too much most antioxidants, but molecular hydrogen generally doesn’t fall into that category. This video was more about other antioxidants, but now I see that I could have been more clear, so thanks for asking the question!
Im 32 years old, am on a ventilator through a trach, have a slew of neurological conditions, have a feeding tube, neurogenic bladder, neuromuscular weakness, and many other conditions. My Chiropractor has a Mild Hyperbaric Chamber, specifically an OxyAir 32 model, and I have a VOCSN ventilator which is compatible with mild hyperbaric chamber therapy. Well I have a lot of conditions and I wanted to see if I could benefit from a few sessions in the Hyperbaric chamber, but due to my medical conditions, and the seizures I had a few months ago, my chiropractor refuses to put me in the Hyperbaric Chamber. I KID YOU NOT! He won't put me in there. He's denied me access. And I think it's a load of garbage, because I have a great mental capacity, I'm not going to try to get out of the chamber when it's at full pressure. I know the pressure cannot be reduced from 40 KPA all of the sudden, and I would just lie in there, quietly for the hour and 15 minutes patients are in there, but the guy refuses to put me in. I told them I would be safe in there, but he said "NO!" So that's not happenin. Which I think it not right! You know, even my Primary Care Physician thinks and told the Chiropractor that I could benefit. And the Chiropractor told me to consult with him, but when I did, the chiropractor decided to deny me access. So I'm switching Chiropractors!
If your Primary Care Physician thinks it's a good idea have him/her write a prescription and go to your hospital. They will be better prepared to handle any emergencies AND insurance will most likely cover it there.
This is really interesting. I would love to hear more about it. Like, is there a list of specific antioxidants to avoid, and for how long? Like for the duration of treatment, just dive days, weeks after final dive, etc? I eat a pretty high antioxidant diet, so it could mean barely eating if I were to get this therapy one day.
We recently did a video about when you'd want to pretreat with antioxidants (things like vitamin C, selenium, glutathione, for example, and you can check out that video here: ruclips.net/video/6-Hngrwirdo/видео.html), but unless you fall into that category, it's generally advised to NOT pretreat with antioxidants. This doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't supplement with antioxidants during your protocol, but it's best to avoid them right before a session.
From personal experience - yes. Glutathione is a master detoxifier. Many people are low - for various reason - making the HBOT experience very uncomfortable.
^THIS^ Please can you answer (I heard oxygen in large amounts can potentially ‘contribute’ to the formation of cataracts). But what about in the healing & recovery process following cataract surgery? Can hbot be helpful?
Great video! The main question that remains, especially for those looking for anti-aging effects, is if taking antioxidants a few hours after the session is beneficial or at least does not affect the results of the treatment session. Any idea on that matter? Thanks.
Yes I would say if you are mostly healthy and wanting to get the most out of the hyperbaric experience while also wanting to take antioxidants for their benefits taking the supplements a few hrs after hbot is the way to do that.
Hello Dr. - Fellow Pineal Craniotomy Patient 08/08/23 * Is it advisable or not to take a b complex, trace mineral complex and things like that before my sessions with HBOT? I am going to Scottsdale Hyperbaric Therapy Center for forty sessions @ five days per week coming up. It also seems that I have not come across other brain surgery patients whom have gone the HBOT route but rather for only concussions and things like that. Curious to see what you say. Also, I understand that you are not specifically providing me with exact medical advice but rather your thinking on this matter. Thank you.
We'd be happy to help craft a personal protocol after setting up a consultation! You can email us at support@hbotusa.com to set something up. But generally speaking, what makes HBOT so effective at helping people with TBI could also help people who've had brain surgery, since surgery is a form of trauma. We've done videos about HBOT and surgery (ruclips.net/video/PSPNHPf4pnU/видео.html), as well as HBOT and TBI (ruclips.net/video/kdnsHCyT1D4/видео.html) that you may find helpful.
What if I take antioxidants AFTER doing the HBOT? If I fast from 6pm until 7am, then spend time in an HBOT, and then eat my healthy breakfast and take antioxidants then, maybe a half-hour after HBOTing, is that okay?
Hi, thank you for sharing, I came upon your channel just today and watched a few of your videos, very good content and informative. If doing BHOT increases oxidation from within, thus increase our bodies natural antioxidants, will taking a powerful antioxidant like vitamin E a few hours after HBOT completely destroy the superoxide since its an external antioxidant, or would they work together in harmony to heal the body? Thank you for your time❤
@@Vinologies yes. Antioxidants can help this, though sometimes that may also negate some of the benefits. Not all oxidative stress is bad. I’ve done a handful of videos on this.
@@HBOTUSA Thank you for taking time to reply, I truely appreciate this. Could you recommend a few of your videos regarding oxidation and antioxidants? As im a bit confused regarding the benefits of antioxidants in repairing our internal organs, yet some oxidation seems to harm our internal organs, my question is how do we balance between good oxidation and in taking external antioxidants? Once again, thank you so much for your time.
Could you please provide some examples? What antioxidants are we talking about? Is it only about supplements? What about Fruits ? Vegetables? Omega 3 capsules? Vitamin D ? Magnesium?
It completely depends on what goals someone has in mind and or how sensitive a person is to oxidation. In certain cases protecting someone from oxidation could be important to allow them to successfully use the chamber and minimize the consequences. In someone else a little increase in oxidation helps their body improve healing, reduce inflammation, improve hormone balance and increase tissue regeneration. There is no single answer answer you your question. That is what this video is trying to say.
Since someone with a medical condition should start slower and at a lower pressure, what length of time and what pressure would you recommend for someone with advanced Multiple Sclerosis? Also does every hyperbaric chamber, regardless of which company, offer different pressure options within the same chamber?
Thanks for your questions! We can't offer medical advice over RUclips, but you can email us at support@hbotusa.com to set up a consultation! Regarding your 2nd question, it varies depending on what sort of chamber you're referring to. If you're referring to a soft chamber for home use, in the U.S. they go up to 1.3 ATA (which we consider mild or low pressure) when the main valve is fully closed. You could play with the position of the valve and open it slightly to slow down the descent and possibly find a point where it maintains a lower pressure.
O wow! I always give my mom a smoothie that is loaded with good antioxidants(things like lions mane mushroom and pomegranate, curcumin, etc). How long should I wait before I give things like that to her? She is fighting Alzheimers so I just wanted to give her things that promote neuroplastity and neurogenesis.
The antioxidants in food is not likely to have much of an effect, in the way I'm describing in this video. I'm referring to highly concentrated antioxidants you'd get from a medical professional in an IV or oral form.
Yes that shouldn't cause any issues. Your diet doesn't really have that large of an impact in the way I'm describing here. I'm more specifically talking about large doses of antioxidant supplements.
It depends on the patient. If they're sensitive to oxidation, you may want to use it before a session. But for everyone else, it's best to use it at another time so you can get the full benefits of the oxidation.

Should I worry about antioxidant foods in my diet or are those okay? I use a soft chamber daily. I'm suppressing mono, autoimmune condition, etc.
I think that in the other video it was saying that you could pre-treat with Vit C Selenium Glutathione & also Hydrogen Water given orally or by I/V

Is GlyNAC supplementation ok hours before hyperbaric?
That's a powerful antioxidant bound to an amino acid.... The video states quite clearly to not take antioxidants before dives
Should you avoid most supplements before Hbot? I take about 20 a day due to vaccine injury. Thanks
Take the anti-oxidants AFTER treatment .. and hour or so after should be fine.
