    Hello Mr. Bhargava
    I been enjoying your tutorials they are really helpful. I have question about this video you have placed the pin at end of transmission lines instead of at the of inductors and capacitors footprint pad. Does it make any difference on simulations by placing pin at the edge of capacitors and inductors mounting pads and at the end of transmission line connected ?

    • @BhargavaAnurag
      @BhargavaAnurag  3 года назад +2

      Ideally you should connect the simulation pin where you expect the component to start or finish on the pad but it doesn't make a huge difference upto decent amount of frequency range as usually the difference is only about 0.1 or 0.2mm and that doesn't cause too much of problem unless you are in mmWave range.

    Thank you so much for your videos! Getting self-taught in ADS. Big tumbs up. I am doing a PA with input and output match and currently I am struggling to combine the two (independant) co-simulations into one layout. Could you explain how that is properly done?

      @BhargavaAnurag  2 года назад

      Hi Carlos,
      Its not difficult but I don't understand what do you mean by "combine the 2 cosimulation into 1 layout"? You don't combine these in the layout but do that in schematic. I would recommend you to contact your local Keysight tech support team to discuss this in more detail so that they can help you.

    • @BhargavaAnurag

      Yes you can but Resistor is usually not recommended on higher frequencies as it will suck up the power so its not a good component for matching network. You can survive without resistor....😊

    How to add via from a top copper of a substrate to ground plane in the layout? Is it from insert via command? If yes, then should the via to be defined between cond and cond2 layer?

    • @BhargavaAnurag
      @BhargavaAnurag  3 года назад

      Yes, you can use Insert->VIA to drop in a VIA onto your layout.
      Whether you define VIA from top to bottom i.e. cond to cond2 or you want to use Blind VIA (i.e. you can start from top and stop on any in between layer) depends on how your PCB will fabricate it and you should use the same in your design.
      Hope this helps.

      @@BhargavaAnurag In one of the lectures, when you imported substrate from schematic to layout then in the stackup both cond and cond2 layers are shown on the top of the substrate. I also tried to do the same and getting the same stackup in the layout but still I am able to define the via between cond and cond2 and after simulation when I am viewing the 3d then via is showing from top copper to the ground plane. How can a via be defined between conductors in a same layer? Is it that I am not able to understand the way ADS defines via and what is the difference between via and component via in via definition. Please help.

    • @BhargavaAnurag
      @BhargavaAnurag  3 года назад

      @@AK-ov2kx If two metal layers exist on the same level in stack up then there is no VIA required as you can directly connect them....😊
      VIA is only applicable if you have to connect metal layers which are on different position in Z-axis and that is why it is called VIA i.e. Vertical Interconnect Access (VIA)

    Sir you haven't added substrate in your schematic window, is that fine

    • @BhargavaAnurag
      @BhargavaAnurag  2 года назад +1

      For EM Circuit cosimulation, substrate is not necessary as you already have simulated layout with EM and now you are only connecting electrical models like L, C, Transistor etc which doesn't necessarily require any substrate definition.

      Hi,
      You can set your desired size from Options->Preferences menu but sometimes things which are already in layout won't change but when you place a new component then it would be as per your new settings.

      My apologies for the delay in response. If seems you have a parametric EM data and trying to do tuning? If so, you need to double click on emmodel view under the cell and switch on Interpolation delta value. If you are unsure what to enter in interpolation column then simply enter the same step size as you used in EM analysis.
      Hope that will resolve your issue but if it doesn't then contact your local Keysight team for help.
