What a smart kid & very articulate as well. Mark probably has no idea how much his character has helped hundreds of thousands of teens & young adults all over this country who feel misunderstood & alone. I can only imagine how different my life could have been if a show like Ugly Betty were around back then. I would have immediately identified with Marks's character Justin & realized that I wasn't a freak after all. WE NEED ANOTHER SHOW LIKE THIS ONE! WHY AREN'T THERE ANY? demonspencer dotcom.
I hope so!!! I absolutely ADORED this show and thought it was one of the most cleverly written, funny, and intense (with the sad moments) shows of all time! "Ugly Betty", "Desperate Housewives" and "Dark Shadows" (from 1991) are my TOP 3 shows!!!
Well done, Mark!! I really wish they will extend the show a bit longer...I have always loved it and I wish the management would reconsider it - instead of supporting rubbish shows, why don't you invest on doing shows like Ugly Betty where people could learn a lot from.
I knew I liked boys as far back as I can remember (4 years old), but I didn't come out 'til I was 16. First to my foster family, then three years later to my real family.
He didn't say the word "gay" because Justin wasn't gay at that point in time. He was just different. He didn't realize he was gay until the 4th season. I loved Justin! I really hope they do a movie, or something. I need to see this cast together again. They were arguably the best cast in the history of TV. I rank them right up there with The Golden Girls cast and The Cosby Show cast. They were just perfect.
The character Justin was born homosexual. And he ain't different. No one can say non-heterosexuals are different. Otherwise I'm gonna say it's the heterosexuals that are different. Get my drift?
I have so much respect for him as an actor & the writers, creators, etc of his character. Is he the youngest gay character to ever come out on primetime TV?
He's adorable ❤️❤️ so articulate, intelligent..

We did a panel with the cast in NY last year. Hopefully we'll be able to post some clips soon.

I guess he had to use the word 'different' instead of the word 'gay' because of some screwed-up censorship.
