Very very underrated song by Rammstein!
I like it very much.
It's about a stalker! Who stalks a woman, watches her secretly, etc.! Probably more often, as one line of text suggests: "He never saw her without a dress..."
The stalker may also be madly in love: "So close, but so far away from you!"
So he knows that this person will probably be unavailable to him forever. In his imagination he imagines what the person, the woman looks like naked, etc...
And so on and so on...

I like the metaphors in this song. “He paints his colors in her picture” is just great to describe that he's imagining being with her right now.

Hello there. Can I just shout out to you for trying to understand the lyrics as a non- native speaker. Kudos. Till writes the lyrics with so many metaphors, even for some Germans it's hard to figure out what he's describing. And this song is loaded with metaphors. Love the song. Musically and lyrically it takes you on a wonderful journey.
