I am new to using Zoom. I use it 2 x a week. I have the meetings sched 30 min each. On one meeting, I would like 50 min. However, this past meeting, I could hear my participants, but I was garbled. I had to end the meeting. I checked the volumes and yet I continued to have a problem. Any thoughts?
Your tutorial is the best of the lot. You have explained each and every feature of video conferencing in great detail so that even a novice can understand quite a bit. I have just begun to use Zoom for participating in daily meetings for teaching purposes and am slowly coming to grips with the technique. I intend to host a meeting on my own very soon and am sure that the instructions you have given will help me a lot. Thanks.
Thank you very much! As a teacher who is NOT techie, this came in handy. I have been reluctant to learn Zoom because of my fear of ????? and after watching your very thorough and patient "how to" video, I feel much more confident! I just practiced with my neighbors and it worked!!!! I also shared it.
Thank you sir for your help. I’ve used the whiteboard before and is very useful but I have a couple of apps installed in my iPad and would like my patients to be actively involved. I would like them to trace letters or assemble a puzzles on their own. I wasn’t sure if Zoom had that capability.
This was totally awesome. Thank you so much, I'm trying to set up a remote translation base from home and this will get me hitting the ground running. Thanks a lot!!
Hello Tenker Best zoom tour video. I was watching at 05/23/20 at 3:00 pm and Robert show blue and red antenna next to free close signs by 13:59 on the video.
Hi Tinker, Liked the video! Straight forward, plain English instead of techie-ese (which I really appreciate), liked the pacing, not too fast/not too slow! I hope to use Zoom to provide TelePhysicalTherapy (really missing my little guys!) but still overwhelmed, don't know how to do it without equipment or being able to handle/touch/cue my little people. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Very cool! Thanks for watching! Yes, it can be challenging to hold a meeting for younger kids. You have the options to manage participants by muting everyone all at once and then choosing to unmute just certain people to let them talk. (Otherwise you will hear everyone all at the same time and its crazy!) You can use a laptop computer to run a zoom meeting or you can just use the camera and microphone built into your smart phone to run a zoom meeting which is really convenient. I would have an agenda that you can follow to give the meeting some structure and use each meeting to get better and better. Good luck!
Thank you for this very informative instructional video about using Zoom Jeff. For the FREE version you only can have 40 minutes if from 3 or more people are on the presentation. But 1:1 id unlimited time for the FREE version. But well presented !
George so much for pointing that out! I went back and looked at the Zoom plans and pricing page and you are correct! 1 on 1 meetings are unlimited! (That's awesome!) I appreciate your feedback and I appreciate you watching! Thanks so much!
@@TinkerForward This is no problem Tinker. You speak so sincerely and communictae well with the viewers here on You Tube. Thank you so muck Tinker! I really enjoyed listening and watching you on video!
Thank you - your video was a perfect pace for me, though I had been using Zoom already. A couple of glitches we are running into with a classroom of 10-12 students attending the meeting is that if we play music from a desktop or open tab source (via screen share) we lose our gallery view of all the kids. Is there any way to share something without a screen view, only audio? Also, we could not chat across breakout rooms which may be vital if we break out our students. ??
outstanding!! Thanks for putting time stamps on your video. One question - when I save a recording and want to share it I don't see RUclips!! I make videos for my piano students and I really would like to share on RUclips. Thanks for your assistance!!
Hi Nancy, thanks for we watching! After the zoom recording saves as a file on your computer you'll need to log into your RUclips account and click the "create" button (located in the upper right corner) and choose upload video. Then you can drag the zoom recording file into that window to upload it to your RUclips channel. Unfortunately there is no button in the zoom app itself to upload a recording straight into RUclips.
Thanks for this video, it's very informative which is just what I needed. Because of Covid 19 online connections like this have exploded. I teach Guitar playing and will also use it for family chats. BTW the robot was at 13:56
I'm glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching! You were the first one correctly guessing where the robot popped up and I've added you to our Tinker Forward Hall of Fame! Congrats! sites.google.com/view/tinkerforward/hall-of-fame
I am in the process of creating a series of videos explaining things to a group of users. I am new to this program. I wonder if it is possible to incorporate the writing functionality of the Apple Pen in iPad onto Zoom, instead of using the annotation function in Zoom. Could someone advise, please?
Two problems can you help me with. I cannot seem to find how to bring into Share in a Zoom Meeting a PDF Document and a PowerPoint File that are saved on my PC and also how exactly to add a logo to the back background. Trevor
I teach a trauma relief technique (EFT) to health care professionals and I want to be able to show my powerpoint and then switch to just me on the full screen(not the PP) so that I can demonstrate the technique and they can see my face closely. Is there a way to do this seamlessly instead of the extra step to go back into "find" room.
BTW As many teachers are beginning the 2020-2021 school year in virtual mode, the 40 minute time limit has been lifted. It looks like something Zoom decided to offer to educators.
I was looking for information on how to record instructions/ teach something using Zoom. I wanted to know if I could use Zoom. How to record an instructional video. Still searching for the answer.
You can use any email address you want to create an account such as an AOL or iCloud email address, you are not limited to the ones that are offered at the bottom, those are just quick start options of most common email accounts. You would simply type the email address you want to use in the top email address field and click sign up.
I am an educator and would want to still engage my students (only my students) to have a class with zoom I have downloaded the app and have actually used it a couple of times with maximum two people. now I want to invite more people to join but will need them to have different unique invites that i can authenticate before they can join. just so that they can't share their codes with some other students I don't permit they join. Any help?
Jeff, You speak well but your presentation is too fast and you assume we know things we don't. And it is interrupted with too many ads and one looses the thread of what you are talking about when it clicks back to you speaking. I still don't know how to "invite' my students to the 'meeting. and how to store the invites or the recordings. I have about 60 university students and we don't use 'gmail'. I hope to use Zoom for my online History course Sept to April.
Hi Chris, thanks for your comments and for watching. I explain how to invite people (these would be your students) at 11:07 in this video. Email is just one option to invite them (and they don't have to have gmail email accounts, this can be for any email addresses), my explanation goes on for several minutes and I give several ways to invite them. You just need to send them the link that zoom creates for your meeting/class. You can copy and paste this link in any form you communicate with your students (email, facebook group, text, chat, etc) As for recording the meeting, I've done another video on this topic which you can watch here: ruclips.net/video/kUvnHQSHMIg/видео.html I have a whole playlist of zoom tutorials here as well: ruclips.net/video/KrxQPtiysg8/видео.html Thanks for teaching History, its an important topic and we need more great teachers like yourself.
My question is, I noticed that like my screen (upgraded to $14.99) I can't seem to find the options of gallery view and other things. After trying an error message stated that my device did "not allow" for those functionalities. Yet my participants can. What's the solution? Your screen doesn't either. BTW Tinker robot showed up at 13:57
Hey! I’m really new to zoom. I have an email for a scheduled meeting tomorrow. I don’t have anyone on my contacts for this meeting though. Do I just click the link at the time the meeting is supposed to start?
Hello, hope you can help me. I’m an occupational therapist. Currently, I’m treating my young patients via Telehealth services using Zoom. I would like my patient to actively participate with my installed applications (tracing letters.) Is this feature possible? I tried to used the share content but the use of the application could be actively be used by the host not invitee. I would like my patients to be actively involved in our sessions. Thank you. Appreciate your time.
Hi Laura, hosts and invites can interact on screen using the whiteboard feature in Zoom. This might be most helpful for your teaching and tracing letters. I talk about the white board at 17:30 in my video. When you screen share your whiteboard after you type or draw using the whiteboard tools the invitees can then go to the settings arrow pulldown menu (at the top of their screen) and choose "Annotate" and then also draw and type in the white board as well. You will only see their typing or drawing after they click Enter or finish moving their mouse and let up on the left mouse button. I did some testing of this using the white board with my wife and we were able to interact quite well. You can also use the whiteboard tools to clear what they've written. But you would be able to draw letters and then they can draw over your letters so you can see them. I believe this only works if they are on a laptop or computer, not a phone or tablet. Good luck!
I am a lecturer for logistics classes for 2 hours session. I have 20 students. How to invite them with their e-mail address and can repeat every week as memory.
Can somebody else use my Zoom ID from some other device. This is important because by doing this Many Teachers can use same subscription to make it cost effective because one teacher can have maximum one session per day & subscription can not be used with full potential.
Hi, yes someone else can use your zoom ID from another device by logging into your account. But only one person will be able to be using your account at one time. So you wouldn't be able to have 2 different meeting instances happening on your account at the same time. As an example you could login on your computer and hold a 30 minute meeting then sign off. An hour later someone else could log into your account on another device and hold a different 30 minute meeting.
