Nice to see you back! Appreciate this super useful tutorial, looks a little simpler than the Figma one. I definitely use your Figma method, but trying to figure out which layer is the vector I want can be tedious.
Thank you! I took a bit of a break so I could focus on creating my online Canva course. With that now finished, I'll be back on YT again. And yes, I agree that Photopea is an easier method because of the way it handles SVG files.🙂
I found you today and subscribed. A few days ago, I almost drove myself crazy trying to place a photo in a heart shape. Thank you! Now, I can shape my designs in a flash. 😅
Nice tutorial, I tried but when I click the trash in canvas... dos not appear the two options (delete image...) just click and erase. Can you help me in this particular? I appreciate
I do it differently. I import a png and right-click layer select pixels > convert to path (selection to path) bottom right > select layer from top menu > select vector mask > select current path > download as a pdf... when you upload to Canva, right-click the image and detach image...
I’m going to need someone appreciation because I’m torn between figma and photopea on trying to get my frame to drop the image in canva! I’m on a mobile device so is that part of the issue? Unfortunately I don’t have a laptop but am manifesting one! Any help would be appreciated 🧘🏽♂️🙏🏼🧘🏽♂️
Is there a way to find an image out in the world (say google) and make a frame out of it? I am looking to make my own frame for a garden flag on a simple stand. I have bought smart mockups like this on Etsy but would like to make my own. Any help would be much appreciated! Love your tutorials - they are so easy to follow! Thank you!
Hi how would yo turn an object into a frame with mutable images inside, for example a cat that has multiple frames within it to put different photos of your cat inside or the number 7 with 7 frames inside, thank you
Hey there! This must be a popular topic because you're the 3rd person to ask about it.😂 I'm going to do a new tutorial on a multi-frame design very soon!
Wondering if you or someone in the comments can help me out. I have a solid color image that I've saved as an SVG in canva. I take it to photopea and follow all the steps. All looks good in photopea, the placeholder image is merged with my original image. I download as a psd, and open in Canva. However, when I pull it onto a page and go to delete it, the entire image deletes, and I don't get the option to just delete the image from the frame. Would you happen to know what I'm doing wrong?
I’m in the same boat as you but I’m on a mobile device and from the endless “how to” videos from what I’ve seen, most of everyone are on a desk/laptop which is why I can’t obviously right click on a device! This sucks cause I’m just learning to master Canva and now I’m tryna learn figma and photopea but I’m runnin into red tape! I did try to place a frame from Canva over the created frame and once I clicked on delete it did give the two option frame or image deletion but that’s with me placing a frame over it just to delete and not show the hard work you put in! I hope this helps please lemme know as I’m in limbo as well!
Does anyone know how this is done PLEASE. I have something I am trying to both understand and create. The bottom layer is a white background. On top of it is a square Canva frame, that doesn’t cover the complete work area. On top of that is an image of a white coffee mug sitting on a kitchen counter. What I’d like to do is to be able to move that top image around and be able to see that frame cover only the cup as it’s moved around. I have seen it done and spent the last few hours with my sister trying to figure it out. We tried everything and just couldn’t make it work. How is it possible to see that frame show through to the top layer as it’s moved, but the frame doesn’t show the whole picture, just the mug? I know I am repeating myself; I’m trying to make it make sense. I searched Google, looked at numerous videos and no answer.
So two things: 1. If you are trying to move the mug to a different spot within the frame, double click on it and you’ll see an outline of the image. Then drag it to a new position. You can also drag the corner handles to enlarge the image in that frame. 2. If you can’t move the image, or it doesn’t move that much, then the image needs to have more to it. Like the mug on a table in a room. If the image of the mug is too close up, there isn’t enough play to move it within the frame.

In Photopea... did you select pixels from your layer before converting selection to path? I had the same issue...

@Qthekat1984 yup! That works too!🙂

@@Qthekat1984 Thank you SO much. Both of the Photopea and Figma options didn't work for me, until I did your workaround!

Yes this can be done. The steps are a little different than what you see in this video. I'll make another tutorial soon to show how to do it.
