You were right! Carlos played so passive. He is good, but playing passively like this is terrible and unacceptable. He better fight hard, move and changes strategy instead of playing like this and gave up the last game, too. I like him, but he deserves to lose because of him, not because the opponent is better than him. His current rating is 2605. The 2585 was the time he signed up for this tournament
It's funny that I used this same strategy against my partner, except that my partner sometimes returns to my FH, then I attack with FH across and he would counter-loop. In this situation, it's better to return to the FH long because the server will have to take a step back using FH and it won't be as powerful and prepared as the BH attack.
