Supreme Court clarifies copyright damages issue

Breaking IP legal news: The United States Supreme Court just issued their ruling on the Warner Chappel music. case. The court held that in jurisdictions following the discovery rule for copyright infringement, a Plaintiff who files a timely case can go back as far as necessary to recover damages. There is no bar to recovery stated in the Copyright statutes, and the Court will not impose a judicial bar to damages as this would "gut" the discovery rule.
