Tutorial: How to create a Live Panorama with 3DVista

- In this clip, we show you how to shoot and create a Live Panorama, a type of panorama that you can only find in 3DVista software. Live Panoramas consist of several panoramas of the same scenery taken at different times that transition smoothly to create a timelapse effect. You can shoot a Live panorama with a 360º camera, such as the Insta360, the Ricoh Theta V or the GoPro Fusion or with your normal DSLR camera.
NOTE: Screen recording reduces frame rates and may affect how smooth you see the navigation through panoramas in this video. To see how the Live Panoramas shown perform in real life, click here:

Thank you for all of your thorough tutorials.
Fascinating and amazing. Thanks for the great tutorial!
thanks for this tuto that’s great.
Does anyone knows it is is possible to add sound to only one of the panoramas in the Live Panorama? so the sound would play only when this particular panorama appears? I am trying to achieve this but not being able to. Thanks you!
I am new in 3D vista, just purchased the software 2 days ago. I am trying the live panorama feature but the sticking is for some reason not working. I followed the tutorial as it I, images are sticked properly, but they are no aligned at all. the function of sticking 2 panoramas using the same parameters to to result in panoramas that will align perfectly is not working for me. my panoramas are made each with 6 exposures, using a 6,5mm circular fish eye lens. The camera was on a tripod of course but the rotation was done manually using marks on the tripod head. Any dias why it is not working for me? Thanks a lot for any help!
Question 1: I saw that with DSLR camera you made only 6 shots per panorama. How do you handle this way the Zenith to get a full 360 x 180 spherical panorama ? I assume that Nadir is replaced with logo. Question 2: Is your output file html 5 compatible?
With this lens I think it actually was 5 +Zenith, but you can see how the panoramas were taken in more detail in our tutorial "how to take panoramas"
Yes, the virtual tour is published in HTML5
Hi there! Can I combine Live Panorama and ordinary in one tour?
Gawd you are beautiful!
Is it possible to create this but with video instead of single photos?
Can you add more slides or even the same slides into your live panorama and turn it into a youtube?
Fantastic video.. do you know, if the Insta360 one X (source photo) is compatible to your software for stitching panorama photos??
Hi. You need to stitch the images in the Insta360 Studio app and then import them into VT PRO.
So, I got my live panoramas, what about popup images?
We are releasing an update in May that includes pop up images in Live Panoramas.
Hi. We have buy the sowtware recentlly and we are very pleased with it. We have a question. Is possible to make a Live Panorma compatible with VR? Thanks in advance
Hola Alejandro. Not yet but we are working on it ;)
Hi, does your stitching software allow you to combine bracketed shots for each individual panorama, to then be included as a group for the live panoramas? I shoot with a DSLR camera then combine the bracketed shots as you would a normal panorama but struggle when it comes to getting all of the parameters correct when combining them all for the live one.
In Live Panorama there is not merging of the different exposures. That happens in the Standard HDR mode of Stitching where same shots with different exposures are converted into a HDR shot prior to stitch them into the final panorama
Hi, please advise what file of output did you use for dslr jpeg or raw file before editing in 3Dvista?
In this case we used JPEG with a 100% of quality
Hey, great video again. I'm planning to buy a 360 camera. Can you recommend one?
Hi Konrad,
It really depends on your budget. The best 360 camera we have ever tried is the Insta360 PRO but the price is a bit high. There are new cameras with similar specs coming in the next weeks. We will be reviewing them in our blog soon.
I would personally recommend the Xiaomi Mijia Mi Sphere. Great quality for the price, but if you want the best quality then go down the DSLR route.
Hello,
I have the Qoocam 8K. For me, it’s a good compromise between DSLR and high-end 360 cameras.
Is it not harmful to the camera when the sun shines in the lens for a long time?
Hi Els,
Well, you can cover the direct sun light using an umbrella or similar :) The important thing is to not move the camera from its position between shots but you can use extra elements to block the sun.
How many panoramas can be within a Live-Panorama ? The maximun number? Thanks
You can have 5 but we recommend 3. iOS device don´t handle big amounts of memory too well...
Can you export live panorama as a video file? like to use it in Adobe premiere .
That feature is coming on October´s update. Visit our blog to know when it is out: blog.3dvista.com
