I don’t understand most things flashlights. But your videos pull back the curtain and I enjoy them. And hey, I got the olight s2 thanks to your review. It’s a pretty good flashlight. And you’re a pretty good RUclipsr. So yeah. Keep on keeping on.
The S2 is a great EDC. I like the slightly better low mode spacing on armyteks and zebralights a bit better... but those are a bit more complicated in the UI department. Glad you like the S2!
Yeah... well I'm trying to tweak my formula. Plus I have less time lately. Mu UI and beamshot sections seem to be the least watched part according to analytics, so I tried to make them a bit quicker. Several people have expressed my UI sections don't need to inlclude everything... so I'm trying that out to make my videos a bit more watchable for everyone. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! I'm trying to shorten them a bit- because I have found mostly people stop watching 2 or 3 minutes in. I am trying to include as much info, and ramble a bit less.
New and improved light: new and improved review. Awesome. I also like that to show the turbo and super extra turbo mode, now you just point it at your asbestos basement floor to avoid setting things on fire. Just like your knife reviews, safety first!
Oh hell yes!...great editing on this one bro!! Great banner/ split srceen...I think the lower bold model # shown for each beam shot is the way to go when switching back and forth ...really nice to view on our end as opposed to the small info print you have been using. Now where's that Olight "Ranger" series w/silent clicky stainless tail switch? I want to but the one after that ¿?
Good to know. Sometimes I just have too much info on the screen for large text- but I'll make it a little bigger when it's just a work or a few letters.
Dude, I just got the X7R, it’s worth every penny. It’s about $279 right now, and it just freakin rocks. The design, the innovation, the 12,000 lumens of insanity. It’s extremely high quality, and I got it just in time for storm season once Hurricane season starts. This is my major emergency flashlight if I need to run out in the rain and wind to light my way with no power. So yeah, that was sort of my justification, a really solid emergency light. And if you’re going to get an emergency light, get one that’s going to do the job and then some.
Justification? Sure.. in Marth's emergency lighting situation, no flashlight is going to be as bright on a low setting, allowing for such a long battery life, may not be compact as smaller handhelds, but this light will stay on a long time. And once you hear a helicopter, or S&R vehicle, TURBO
RedPill Practical - I wanted a new floodlight, but I didn’t just want some cheap floodlight that uses one of those big lantern batteries. I wanted something much more substantial and useful. I wanted it for emergency situations, after all I live in Hurricane country. Last year my neighborhood lost power and it was pitch black. So I didn’t have a floodlight which would’ve helped. So while I had my EDC flashlight, I didn’t have something meant for emergencies.
Marth I recently bought a lantern pack that ran on AA's simply because I don't have the money to drop near 300 on a flashlight just yet. But yes a floodlight like the Marauder comes in handy imho because of its battery capacity. Yes its powerful as all hell, but I would probably use it as a long lasting, low (by its standards) lumen flashlight because you would never know when the power comes back on. I'm sorry to hear you have to go through that, but on the bright side you are able to acknowledge when you have things you can improve to be better prepared vs ppl who repeat the events and fail to learn.
Not a light that I would have a use for, but thanks for reviewing. Lumintop just released the AA version of the Tool. I have the AAA version and been carrying it every day now for several months and absolutely love it. Might be worth taking a look at the AA version if you have some review time available. Rock on Knife Bro!
I don't like the Tool AA because of the mode distribution. They did away with the "strong-ish moonlight" Low mode, made it so powerful in the TAA that it practically overlaps the Mid mode if you're not using a 14500. I was in on a groupbuy feeler before the stats were revealed, but once they were, my interest fizzled completely. A shame, too. If they'd kept the mode distribution intact, the TAA would be the best 1xAA torch that I know of, above even my Thrunite T10.
Good review. Just wondering about temperature concerns on max output like the Acebeam X80 has. How hot or do you need gloves like you do with the X80? I like the longer beam shot portion. Ever thought about timestamping the sections in the description So if people don't want to see a UI section, they can go right to the point they do want.
How about a top 10 of your favorite lights. Not necessarily best in class performance/price/lumens etc. But the ones you always seem to just pick up to enjoy for one reason or another. Besides. Top tens always get good view numbers lol
I like that idea, a top 10 of your favorites and of course why, I know you said you have no use for the colors on that ace beam x80 but I could see myself using the blue when I am sitting alone just bored and drinking a beer.
Great review! Thx! :) i really like the new X7r! too bad your new reviewing speed takes more of my time than your old style. Since you talk so fast now, I gotta watch your vids at 0.5x speed >:)
Optics or reflector? This has a reflector. Are you talking about the X7R? None of the lights seen in this review have what would be considered optics- all are standard reflector based lights.
You do realize that this light has many modes that I did not test. I don't test every mode on every light because of time, and wear and tear to my camera. This has several modes that last more than 2 hours. Look at my output section... I put in Olights claimed runtimes and lumens for each mode.
I like this. This coke can should be enough for that time between 8 PM and 8 AM when the wicked shadow ghosts (you know which ones, they come out after you've had too much meat and mushrooms of questionable origins) come out and short out all the lights in your hideout except for that one standing lamp that's always the furthest away from you. With this, you can stay where you were, watching for the things trying to break down your barricaded doors and windows and praying to not hear any crows overhead. (yes, I've been bitten by the Darkwood bug; that's one game that'd make for an awesome and eerie TV series if novelized)
Uuuhhh... they are brighter. This light is 10.5 k lumens and those are 13k and 14.5k lumen lights. My beamshot section literally has my lumens rating written on them.
Gotcha! They're in Georgia, so quicker if you live closer. They actually have a RUclips channel too, and I'm sure they reviewed this. They have a much bigger following than me!
Check out a few other reviews and you'll see the same. I take it you've never watched my video on testing methods... or really any of my other videos either? Almost all manufacturers test their lights... and when I review them I test the claims. Why does anyone ever test or review any consumer product, if the manufacturer assures you their gear lives up to what they claim? But again... don't take just my word for it. www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?437425-Olight-X7R-Marauder-review-with-measurements-(3xXHP70-4x18650) This guy tested less than 10000.
I'm cool man... but I'd thought I'd explain myself. Most Olights I've tested are spot on or higher on their maximum modes than they claim. This is a rarity, but other people found the same thing. Like all reviews it's best to read or watch a few for the product you're interested in to get a sampling.
I personally own the X7 in NW. Honestly I don't care about the x7R model as I don't like proprietary battery packs. After about three years that battery pack would have degraded in capacity, leaving you high and dry when looking for a replacement pack. With the x7 all you'll need to do is pick up 4 high drain 18650s and you're back in business. The x7R is significantly more expensive too, for just a slight increase of brightness.
Strange that they don't take advantage of USB C's ability to run at higher voltages and ranges of different amperages. They could get far faster charge times if they wanted to... I don't know why these flashlights charge so slowly. Ah, maybe because they don't want to include a 60w power brick in the kit. lol.
You make the best flashlight videos on all of the Internet.
He does and ALWAYS WILL!!!
Agreed but dude desperately needs to mop his checkerboard tile floor.
Thanks dudes!!!
+Randy Aguililla fair enough.. it’s the basement and that tile is old!
James Min I agree
For the first time, a high power output flashlight with a built in battery. Clear and accurate review. The best flashlight reviewer ive watched.
Glad you liked it! Thanks!

I have both marauders. I also like the longer reviews.

Great review, thanks. I still prefer the longer reviews.
Thanks! I'm trying to shorten them a bit- because I have found mostly people stop watching 2 or 3 minutes in. I am trying to include as much info, and ramble a bit less.
Great review! I'm thinking of buying an old version X7, but I'm stopped by the lack of lanyard hole.
Thanks man!
I as ALWAYS enjoy your flashlight reviews. This one was short as you said but still enjoyed. Thanks friend.
It was my shortest flashlight review in a while... but I'm trying to make the pacing a bit better.
New and improved light: new and improved review. Awesome. I also like that to show the turbo and super extra turbo mode, now you just point it at your asbestos basement floor to avoid setting things on fire. Just like your knife reviews, safety first!
Torch it baby! I got an SRT9 review dropping in a few hours too. Stay tuned!
The warmth of the Acebeam X45 is amazing.
Yep, I like it a lot!
I subscribed not only for the great reviews, but for the sarcasm. Awesome!
It's very weird some dude yesterday said he could do without the sarcasm... I told him to make his own reviews then.
Oh hell yes!...great editing on this one bro!! I want this. But I can’t do enough mental gymnastics to justify getting it.
But I want it.
Avoid this channel if you want to save money!

+Jay Starr doesn’t get anywhere near as hot as that one. Hottest part near head about 130. Handle stays 120... that’s 3 minutes in outside at 80f.
+Jay Starr it is still very warm- uncomfortable but not hot potato? Gloves wouldn’t hurt
AceBeam have the 25000 lumen X80, so why would you bother with this which is only a minor upgrade over the original X7?
+ColdWarWarriors I’ll leave that to the viewers to decide.
Great review as always .
How about a top 10 of your favorite lights. Not necessarily best in class performance/price/lumens etc. But the ones you always seem to just pick up to enjoy for one reason or another. Besides. Top tens always get good view numbers lol
I'll work on it! I have a ton of lights to choose from.
I like that idea, a top 10 of your favorites and of course why, I know you said you have no use for the colors on that ace beam x80 but I could see myself using the blue when I am sitting alone just bored and drinking a beer.
Great light!! Oh, the X7RX is coming out? I will wait for that model then..
I knew it!
Yo bruh. Yuh make ther bestest light reviews on the interweb. Yuh
Thanks duder!
I'll wait for the X7R-mini...
Great review, but what else is new.
+Jacco E nice! I hear it’s brighter better and way cheaper. You should wait!
That kid's life is lit. Literally
Zebralights are great, SC52 is my daily edc. Why doesn't Going Gear carry them?
I dunno! They make great lights.
Nice thank you for the review
Great review! Thx! :) i really like the new X7r! too bad your new reviewing speed takes more of my time than your old style. Since you talk so fast now, I gotta watch your vids at 0.5x speed >:)
Slow mo!
Your my dude. I love Blades and lights.
Optics or reflector?
Very nice review👍
Optics or reflector? This has a reflector. Are you talking about the X7R? None of the lights seen in this review have what would be considered optics- all are standard reflector based lights.
The x7r costs in my country 300$. The Acebeam X45 XHP70.2 costs about 200$. Should I get the latter ?
Is there a high end light that has better battery life? Seems 2 + hours is bit too low for what I am looking for.
You do realize that this light has many modes that I did not test. I don't test every mode on every light because of time, and wear and tear to my camera. This has several modes that last more than 2 hours. Look at my output section... I put in Olights claimed runtimes and lumens for each mode.
Lol i like how you used your real accent as an "imitation".
Am I talking about myself??
All I know is that I use this flashlight (X7R) on nightshift 👮🏽 and it’s worth the cash! I highly recommend to LEO’s for search and rescue!
Plus it charges super fast!

+Dinner-fork tongue I need to check it out
cool, cool like the tint
+Daffa Wiratama oh yeah...
Is it me or the X45 and imalent DT70 look brighter ?
Uuuhhh... they are brighter. This light is 10.5 k lumens and those are 13k and 14.5k lumen lights. My beamshot section literally has my lumens rating written on them.
How long is there shipped items take to get to you. Thanks
Going Gear? They have multiple shipping options. So it depends. They are USA based. A few days usually, if the item is in stock.
Advanced Knife Bro ok never ordered from them didn't know . Thanks love the videos please keep talking informative and enjoyable .
Gotcha! They're in Georgia, so quicker if you live closer. They actually have a RUclips channel too, and I'm sure they reviewed this. They have a much bigger following than me!
Olight tests their lights and they got 12,000 lumens so I don’t know how you got different. Maybe the environment and testing differences.

Advanced Knife Bro Woah chill.. new to your channel, I like it.

Do you think one of these would stop a dog attack (at night) - ?
Depends on the dog.
thorough
Thanks!
I thought the x7r wasnt running cree led
Could i plug this into my power bank to extend runtimes or will i overheat the flashlight?
I don’t think so.
So what do you think , Acebeam or Olight ? Which would be the better choice for this type of light?
Heber Clement III Acebeam
If you want brightest... Go Acebeam. Build quality on Olight is slightly better, but Aceambeam pushes the brightness enevlope. UI is similar on both.
I personally own the X7 in NW. Honestly I don't care about the x7R model as I don't like proprietary battery packs. You have the right idea.
First. And love my x7
Pretty sweet light!
What's better to buy X7R or X80 ????
+Shahyan008 X7R because no color modes... x80 if you need bright bright bright
"and it takes about three and a half hours to charge, which ain't bad because it's actually shorter than most of my flashlight videos" ..... Classic
+Eric Kidwell just being honest!
Really cool Olight flashlight, I've disassembled mine in a review. Check it out if you like.
Strange that they don't take advantage of USB C's ability to run at higher voltages and ranges of different amperages. They could get far faster charge times if they wanted to... I don't know why these flashlights charge so slowly. Ah, maybe because they don't want to include a 60w power brick in the kit. lol.
That’s probably why!
Rip going gear owner :(
+Edison Siew yeah man... I’m sad
usb-c is neat
USB-NEAT
You said usb 3
Oh well
Advanced Knife Bro but your review is awesome!
Advanced Knife Bro I love your reviews I want to send you a x9r to review! And create a video about it!
24th view! I’m famous!
More famous than me!
First
Because of North Korea, lol!
It's the only thing I could think of. I'm pretty sure I woke up saying North Korea at one point last week.
