Yaman has melancholy as one of her colour. It's not the Bhimpalashi anguish, Jaunpuri disappointment or Kanara tears of loss. But it instils a controlled, earthly sadness in your mind and there comes the soft lamentation of Vidushi's voice. It bends me.
one of the most outstanding and sublime of artists. what a voice! and how utterly serious. classical music is like a yajna, which demands the utmost attention. I have always greatly admired her singing. thank you for uploading...
Very well said !!! Fully agree. She had her own class. Truly it seems like classical music was like a yajna for these kind of singers. They were devoted to music and nothing else like fame.
She is immortal and choicest GEM leading us towards one pointed mind and devotion to most Beloved Lord Krishna-myriad of times salutation to this immortal and outstanding ARTIST.
I feel so honoured to get the opportunity to hear the melodious voice of such great guru on the field of classical music. Thanks for sharing this with the world. ❤❤❤
I echo your sentiments. She epitomizes the beauty of Indian classical music. A heavenly voice like this is such a pleasure to listen to. Veenaji is always with us in our hearts through her recordings.
18:24: Indian conception of values has spread so pleasingly through Vidushi Veena Sahasrabuddhe's rendering invoking the Almighty's wonders. And we have Gaza, etc simultaneously being experienced. As Mahatma Gandhi has stated: Inscrutable are the ways of the Lord! And all this is being played out in the midst of the Gita: Well, Hari smarane mado niranhara!
@@vintageaudio54 : My eternal gratitude to you for that, sir. Because, at ~41:09 there is an Khuli-Alaap section that is simply divine in its use of Pancham, and if not for this fix I would never have heard it.
Blissful. Reminded of the joy of listening to Veena tai in person in late 80s and onwards in Pune.

I think it is yaman kalyan. Because of the use of shuddh madhyam.
Raju Asokan Ok, I didn't heard that.
Ritwik Arya all three Raags Yaman, yaman kalyan, kalyan are same.....it has shudh madhyam as a vivadi swar!
shuddha madhyam is sometimes used for ornamentation :D the chalan of the raga still conforms with that of Raag Yaman.
