Maybe it is just the scans, but the colors are much more vibrant on the Mantle on the right. The eye appeal is higher to me (though I am not sure if it is a million dollars higher).
The print and color quality on the 8.5 is insane. However, I’d rather have the 8 then use that extra mill to buy PSA 10’s of the MJ 86 Fleer and every 84-85 Star AND build a new house.
I would never trust baseball card exchange after the certified a MJ Fleer rookie box as sealed and then when it was shown as not being authentic they tried to claim it as a “unicorn” box😂

I remember my brother and i getting one of the Boba Fetts in the mail after sending off the required proofs of purchase or whatever it was. I was 6. He was 8. I lost the rockets in the yard the first day, and my brother was pissed. I remember it coming in the mail. It was just in a little rectangular cardboard box, maybe brown or white, with the address label on it. I dont know what happened to it after that, but i sure wish i could go back and do that one over. 1.3 mil is insane. I can't wait to tell my mom what it sold for. Like, you thought i was a disappointment before, guess what, we lost 1.3 million dollars in the yard. Good Lord.
A lot of us who were kids growing up in the late 60’s/ 70’s had toys that bring in good money today. I had every action figure from the “Star Trek” line and the USS Enterprise where you put the figure in a box, twirl a round button on top, then the figure disappears like being transported!
I have an old eBay pic saved of the Magic Johnson card from the Kobe and Jordan logoman cards in this vid, and you would not BELIEVE how faded the autograph on the card is. Some moron pulled it and decided to literally take the card sunbathing with him.
The Boba Fett figures with the launching rockets were recalled very early on because some little children had choked on the rockets. The figures they replaced them with had a single immovable rocket in the launcher on his back.
Can u do a top Sales of Pokémon cards sometimes bcuz I think alot of peeps would or enjoy it alot forsure please thxs but awes content and video like always but keep them coming plus more ..Story's of ur Card purchases story's we love them!!! Godbless have a great rest of ur week and Christmas 🎄 ...
I’ve collected all types of sports and non sports cards since 1984 and I still don’t understand why someone would pay 1.5 million bucks for a Kobe 1/1 autograph card when an early year autographed game worn jersey would be much less expensive and much cooler as a display piece!
Did your research dept. find out if the MJ card would have sold for more if it was graded a 10 or 9 instead of authentic? Just curious and interested why they did not get it graded.
The Boston Red Sox paid 1st baseman Doug Mienkiewicz $1 million dollars for the 2004 WS final out baseball that, after 86 years of losing, made The Red Sox World Champions. At the time, it seemed utterly ridiculous price to pay for a baseball. With all The Red Sox fans in the world, how much you think it would fetch 20 years later? 1 Mil now looks like a bargain price!
So sad to hear that the "holy crap blazer" division has been discontinued. That 33 Goudey Babe Ruth would have definitely made that division if still active.
I like the Mantle on the right a lot better....$1m more? I don't play in that sandbox! Any idea if the baseball HOF purchases these high $ jersey's - shame if they sit in someones house / vault and isn't enjoyed by the masses. Rvryone chime in..... Thanks as always!
The movie is so iconic in movie history (1st color movie) and American culture that I can see it going for that much….24 million don’t get you as much as it used to !
I just can't get behind photo matched memorabilia...people are just way too good at faking things now and this seems like something those scammers may dabble in.
How can a card that old that was printed with stone-age printers be a 8.5 grade? I don’t believe it either. This is what makes grading so ridiculous..,people actual believe the grade because they said it. Ya, and all the graders are that damb honest…tell me another one. Guys making 25 bucks an hour won’t take a bribe? Right!
11:31 WTF??? $24,000,000 for what ultimately is a piece of fabric!!!??? You can literally buy a Mitchell and Ness replica of this same jersey for $240 AND it looks exactly like it!! Priorities in life, huh? 🤔
I noticed the 52 Mantle PSA 8.5 has serial number beginning with "090". From what I understand, that prefix was used by a particular grader, who may have a bad reputation.
Are the people at PSA blind??? The MJ auto is way off the red space where he was supposed to sign... That's a great example of why grading doesn't matter...
"Pushes Glasses Up Nose Slightly" Boba Fett actually first appeared in the Star Wars Holiday Special in an animated segment in November of 1978.
Great comment! 😂 I’ve met people with canonical knowledge that deep!
A+ work by you

The registration is also much better
I agree, the centering may be slightly better on the 8, but I thought the 8.5 deserves the higher hammer price
It’s always.difficult to judge differences on cards that are scanned.

12:23 One of Three pairs of Ruby slippers used during the filming of the movie. The pair that sold are the pair that were worn most during production.
Didn’t a pair get sold 5-10 years ago for a few million?
This is Boba Fett’s first appearance on a High Rollers list… welcome, Boba.

Boba Fett first appearance was in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, you'd think the research department would've caught that.
Someone is getting fired for that
Thank you. Was about to point that out. The Holiday Special is a hoot to watch. One can tell Lucas had nothing to do with it.
One can tell drugs had a lot to do with it @@timotheegoulet1511

The research department did a bang up job on this one. They deserve a big fat Christmas bonus.

The difference in the Mantle card is the square by his name on the card on the right is filled in.A variation.
That Goudey Ruth is amazing
For the two Mantles. The one on the right is much more colorful.
"The pants were authenticated" is a funny sentence to me....
The Boba Fett figures with the launching rockets were recalled very early on because some little children had choked on the rockets. The figures they replaced them with had a single immovable rocket in the launcher on his back.
The mantle on the right seemed brighter does that make a difference?
Photomatching is a scam. Its not possible to definitively photomatch items. People will believe anything when money is involved.
Love the Boba Fett!!!!! Thanks Chris
I’ve gotten some pretty good deals on that CI Auctions site.

Otani was NOT the first member of the 50/50 club. That honor belongs to Jose Canseco when he got divorced in California! word!

Wow wow on the Ruth 24million dollar shot caller jersey. Mantle on the right had better color.

I would say maybe Nicolas Cage bought the ruby red slippers but I don't think he's worked enough recently to be buying those. :)
