Kanji was always one of my favorites. Maybe because his voice actor is so damn good.
Troy Baker has nice performances, Tales from the Borderlands is also a really good one.
Not just one, but two. Troy Baker did Persona 4 and Golden while Matt Mercer did Q Series and beyond.
To add up to thisoldgamer590. Troy baker voiced kanji in persona 4 and persona 4 golden. And matthew mercer voiced kanji in the anime and the spinoffs like the fighting games(arena ultimax and blazblue cross tag), the Q series, the dancing game, etc.
Kanji always struck me as a "street-smart" guy. Not very knowledgeable in school topics, but was quickly able to adapt to and solve practical problems.

Kanji is just Shinjiro if he didn't take drugs, doting and motherly big man that keeps their profile low and rough so they didn't stand out and attracts people.

Some of the best moments of this entire game was just Kanji saying something really smart out of no where with full confidence like he wasn't even saying something smart.
Also holy hot damn that scene between Ken and Kanji... they don't need to try so hard in every game but they freaking do.

To be clear I mean in a way that he'll remember, like when he meets Akihiko in P4A, but I might have to look up to see if there's Persona Q moments I don't know about

I've always been called eloquent and poetic in the way I speak, very caring and affectionate as a person; but I was still born in the hood, so I've also got a vulgar exterior. While I'm more academically learned than Kanji, I really relate to him in feeling like an outcast. The way he dispenses wisdom, the way he automatically tunes himself to other people is something that also came naturally to me as I grew up. He also does remind me of a troubled friend who's always trying to do better in spite of how cruel he once was. His convo with Ken reminded me of how he's spoken to me about similar struggles. Also the same when it comes to crime. It's been years since I've gone through P4 and PQ, so I completely forgot about all this. I see why my friend-not the troubled one-compared me to him.

This game reminds me of the intelligence types. Kanji ain't the brightest tool in the shed when it comes to academics, but his whole thing is being incredibly emotionally smart.
The man isn't book smart but he is street smart.
