It’s crazy to me that a pro is giving free professional advice to make us better anglers and people are complaining about the sound of the reel. We are in 2020 for sure.
Randy, your play-by-play is awesome. You showed what many of us are seeing on a daily basis and no fear of showing the small catches. Keep it up and love that you are with the young professor.
I just love listening to you speak on fishing! There's no doubt you have tons of knowledge on bass and how to fish! Thanks and am anxious for next videos....
The best teaching RUclips channel out here. I started fishing 2 years ago and I can honestly say.... y’all have been so kind to share your info that I feel like what I am learning and applying it would have taken me 30 years to learn. My two kids want to go fishing everyday because of how you both have helped me know what to do and actually catch fish. THANK YOU!!!!
Randy is a great addition to the channel! Most informative channel next to TacticalBassin. Can’t wait to see what Randy has to say about prespawn bass on Grand! Thanks guys!
I love square bills . My favorite one by far and I only have one left is a vintage Rogers Big Jim with no rattles . The small size . It has almost no action but the bass absolutely inhale it .
I fished a pink floating worm yesterday, and let me tell you....it works! I fish an 83 acre reservoir that was made from a coal mine that flooded. It’s 50 ft deep in places with many pockets that are 20 + ft deep. There are a few shallow flats, and that’s where I made it work. Thanks!
Great info and we enjoy all that you and Jonny are sharing with us! Both of you guys have a lot of good things that can help all of us do better in our fishing!
I have watched this video several times...great advice! Read all the comments and no one mentions that Randy switches back and forth between right and left hand casting like it's no big deal...and then he also mentions he is using a jerkbait special for a squarebill rod...I've never heard anyone using that rod for squarebills...but I did see alot of dang comments about the sound of the reel...missing the forest for the trees guys
Great info in this vid, thanks Randy! I'm always incredibly nervous to use crankbaits and jerkbaits around any structure. I really need to practice your tips for these types of baits. I got so used to soft plastics rigged up weedless, that I never use crankbaits. I'll definitely be switchin it up after watching this! FTM!
Flat Creek 👍👍 since I've been able to start fishing again, one been putting in there a lot. Caught a fee on and near that laydown log and on the other corner of that wet creek. Love that place.
Anybody notice at the 3:52 mark, Randy is fishing a laydown with a crankbait, and there is a Texas rigged 10" Zoom Monster worm hung up in the branches?
Great job Randy! Top shelf info! You guys often ask for video suggestions so I’ll make my first. Would you and Jonny consider making a video showing how each of you store and organize your baits and tackle at home. Not on the boat but your storage systems. Thanks again. 😃👍🏼🎣
I see a squarebill cranking video from Randy, I click it. I learned a lot, most importantly that I need a growling raccoon in my boat for shallow water deflection success.
Hey Randy and Johnny great show. Old Carterville boy here and I get homesick everytime I watch you guys fish my home Waters. I grew up fishing stockton with my granddaddy in a Little Jon Boat. Johnny what episode did you show how to download structure points off of state website on to your fish finder? Thanks for all the great info.
Lots of comments about that reel. All my crainkbait and spinnerbait combos sound like that. When you make a couple thousand casts a day they just wear out.
@@AlphaZuluPhotography you have obviously never tournament fished. i can wear out a quality reel in two tournament seasons. Your reels lay on the deck of your boat for 10 hours in the sun, the next tournament they may be getting rained on for 10 hours on top of making a couple thousand casts a day with a heavy crankbait and cranking in several hundred pounds of fish. I dont care what brand or how much you spend you will wear out reels. If you've never worn a reel out to the point of it sounding like a coffee grinder, then you don't fish much. And if its your cranking reel, you'll fish with it after it starts making noise to get all the good out of it.
@@ryanjohnson1480 you must be using Chinese made reels. I guided and fished almost daily and my reels never sounded like that. Buy Japan made Shimano and Daiwa and take care of them.
Hey Randy. What do you (or anyone reading this comment) think about "worming" a square bill with a high rod tip? I clean up in shallow water, near cover with this technique. I would love to know more about this technique and how folks us it. Thanks for all the videos Randy.
Awesome gents... I live up in NY and want to strengthen my shallow crankbait fishing, unfortunately a lot of the lakes I fish - resevoirs...have great visibility and no creek arms, however very similar banks in regards to cover and structure.. what are your suggestions? Thanks in advance
@@troyholley6231 probably 3 dozen of my reels have swapped bearings. still sounded ripe for grease when his spools slowing down at like 2:20. but alas, twas a joke regardless.
Good morning Randy! I noticed you're using both a Baitcaster and a spinning rod for your cranking. Can you tell me why number one and then number two what setup or should I say what rod are you using as a baitcaster power and action and the same for the spinning rod. Thank you. Good video very helpful!
I have a few z z2 crankbaits and they came with tiny hooks about #8’s I changed mine to #5’s and was worried that I was hurting the action. It looks like you have #4’s on yours. I like the size hooks on my s crank 1.5’s but I have bent some on fish under 2lb’s and I replace them with the same size Gamakatsu round bends. Back to the question I want to ask you what size hooks do you use on the Z z2 and the Z z3 Crankbaits? Thanks for sharing your techniques love your videos.
I love randy and his intuitive channel but it's funny to me he swung every fish in this video then made a video saying that swinging your fish is an ego thing lol.. not a hater comment I swear I just love contradictory thoughts that prove he's human like me
He catches 100% more bass on crankbaits in the summer than I do because I don’t throw crankbaits often. As a bank angler I can’t go swimming when the trebles catch a log. He can pull his boat up to the snag and get his lure back... I can’t.
Good information but it goes against almost everything I've read and watched elsewhere so it has me scratching my head a little bit. I've always thought most fish would still be out closer to the main lake even in late summer and start transitioning to the backs of creeks as time went on and end up in the back mid to late fall. I don't think Randy or Jonny reply anymore, so let me know your thoughts.

Randy could throw a clothes line with a paperclip tied on and catch fish.
😂 seriously
He does have sponsors but may have lost his reel sponsor. A little oil or bearing change goes a long way.
Randy just about said crick! It's OK, just a true Ozarks man right there! Great video, thank you!
