  • Welcome to a new series I have on RUclips called Retro Rock Reviews. Each week, we are going to pick an album and do a quick review. They won’t be long shows, something quick and fun to get you through your day. For Episode 2, we are tackling the ever interesting Frank Zappa and his album 'Hot Rats'. Released on October 10, 1969, it was an album and artist I was always afraid to tackle because he is...let's say...different. It is outside my comfort zone. But I tackled it and here is my review. Enjoy!

HI. I'm a longtime fan of FZ. Hot Rats is a good starting place.
Your being pleasantly surprised after listening to his genius was gratifying 😊.
So much more to discover if you dare.
I'm 66 and have been discovering new genres all the time. One notable band for me is Jane's Addiction.
    Enjoyed the video 👍. Greg

@@3dimensionsofmusic3D thanks for watching. I’m trying different artist and getting outside my comfort zone and this for the bill. I was surprised by how much I liked it.

Very nice review. Zappa is one I haven't listened to much at all, never really sought him out. I can see what you say about it being a different listening experience than the more conventional stuff. I checked out a few snippets of this album and it's one I could probably give a shot to, though I'd have to be in the right mindset for it. It might not be something that would "hit" with me if I wasn't paying close attention or ready for something more freeform.
