I got my tape a week ago and even tho I still need practice, my first attempt made me flatter(I'm a B) than my GC2B binder.....so I'm very excited to keep trying
Could you compare the chest alteration over time between a binder and trans tape? I’m genderfluid and on days when I don’t have chest dysphoria I actually really like my chest, so I don’t bind because I don’t want to change it.
@@hanaeltantawy145 I’ve actually been using trans tape, so I can sort of answer the question. For context I’m a 36B, and I use the tape 1-2 times a month. I’ve been using it for about 4 months. I really wish I had taken pictures to better compare the results, but from what I can tell by eye and memory, the alteration is minimal. My breasts definitely do sit lower on my chest, but nothing extreme. That said, I’ve not been binding for a long time. But anyway, hope this helps!!
I just saw trans tape on Instagram and want to try it, so this review was REALLY helpful, thank you! I appreciate the specifics about the removal process and trial and error to get it on “right.”
i know I'm like a year late but I want to ask since I cant seem to find much info about this specific question anywhere else: How long do you wait between uses? Like if you were to wear it for say 4 days, after you take it off, how long do you have to wait for your skin to heal before you can put it on again? I'm debating whether or not to get it before uni starts so that I can just put it on and dont have to worry like with a binder about only being able to wear it for 8 hours, but I also don't want something which I cant wear for a full day or something between uses.
on days where you’re not taping you can try wearing a sports bra that’s not too constructive/not moving your tissue around too much and just letting your chest chill out. i would also recommend lathering up on lotion + wearing the clothes you love the most. when you’re wearing your favorite pants or that shirt that inexplicably makes your chest flat or dark tshirt with slightly oversized zip up hoodie, you won’t feel as poorly about not being able to bind at the moment. regardless, the time spent not binding is about the same or even less with the tape. you don’t always need to take breaks during the day or worry about being unbound in the evening. or worry as much about your health and safety + comfort.
i tried transtape for the first time today and im terrible at it, i just cant get it to work properly lol and ive used like half the roll so hopefully i get better with time
I started binding and because of school I need to wear it more than 8 hours. It hurts my ribcage a lot and I’m scared to get cysts. Would it be better to put tape or a binder? I heard that tape is more comfortable.
@@CaidenLouis Thank you so much 🥺 I’ve been feeling so uncomfortable at school cause I wore a sports bra, I heard tape does scarring, is it really that bad?
2:34: Dangerous if you don't take it off correctly. Me, sitting here with a blistered chest and skin irritation after ripping my tape off without using oil: Yea.
Do you clean it or something like that after you go swimming? I bought trans tape to try if it's more comfortable for me before getting top surgery and I'll travel to the beach for vacation. I'm a bit confused if it's better using something in particular for cleaning it while using it and have gone swimming or if it's not necessary, just same soap for all the body. I hope I'm being clear, love from Argentina 🧚♂️
i cant use binder for medical reasons and um i anyway sometimes fall asleep while studying with all my clothes on so i would like probably die with a binder when i use sport vra sometimes accidentally for like 40 hours so XDDD
Is their anything to protect your nipples when using the tape? My nipples are always uncomfortable and sometimes they feel painful when clothes or something rub up against them and I’m kinda afraid of the tape sticking to them. I’m hoping one day just to get rid of my breast and the nipples but until then I have to deal with them.😅
Is there a difference between a binder and tape with heat? Cause like I wanna use it on my summer vacation in a very hot region so a binder seems like it will be rlly sweaty.
i use a binder and live in Texas and OH BOY the boob sweat is horrific. binders are just very sweaty for me. i haven’t been wearing trans tape for that long so i can’t comment but i imagine it’s better
Get large (large is overall better anyways bc you don’t have to use too many strips) it kinda depends how long it takes to ship especially since we still have covid around but around a week usually
I tried the tape because I’m trans but we think I was allergic to it as I started to cut and i had blisters wasn’t able to wear anything on top half until everything calmed down
I’ve been trying to use it for a while but it’s only enhanced my chest rather than “flatten” (I’m a size D) and it’s making kind of uncomfortable with that fact 😭
I took it off 3 times in 2 days and I have SlIghT scars….. will they go away? And does it usally leave scares or is it just cuz I took it off too soon?
I wouldn't try it if I were you, trans tape is waterproof so soaking in water won't do much good. But lucky for you any oil will work for the removal, Coconut oil, baby oil, vegetable oil, olive oil, cooking oil, literally any skin safe oil will work if you soak the tape in it long enough. All you have to do is go into your kitchen, find whatever oil you cook with, saturate the tape until the entirety of it is darker than it is when dry, and then wait 3 or more minutes. Once your done waiting peel the tape off slowly, and if you start to feel the tape pulling on your skin, just pour more oil on the part that's being stubborn.

very late but personally with my binder i have had zero change i’ve been binding for about a year with 2-3 day a week breaks
i bind 5-6 days a week for around a year. i have noticed no changes
I just saw trans tape on Instagram and want to try it, so this review was REALLY helpful, thank you! I appreciate the specifics about the removal process and trial and error to get it on “right.”
This is so cool! I cant bind at work because I have 8 hour shifts with lots of physical activity, so binding isn't really an option for work

You should ideally take a few days to let ur skin heal. I normally let my skin chill for 2-3 days bc it’s sensitive

i was about to buy this then i remembered i live in New Zealand and shipping is $31
i had the same problem, but you can just buy any sport tape and it's the same thing but with a different brand name!!
honesty, kt tape is way better than transtape imo, it’s a lot cheaper and i find it hurts my skin less when i take it off

I have accidentally fallen asleep with a binder on. It can be tough to breath sometimes.
Another thing is you can just buy boob tape and your parents wouldn’t know it’s because you’re trans, you could just say it’s instead of a bra :)
This was super helpful! Thank you!!
Is it bad for you if you wear it during working out? I take dance classes and I'd really like dancing with transtape but idk if it'll do any damage
you can work out in it!
So I’m confused when do u put on the coconut oil. Do u put it on when ur abt to put ur transtape?
use oil when removing it! i always put it on after a shower on clean dry skin
