That's a long time, I couldn't imagine how it feels to watch footage of the game after that amount of time! If your pc is good enough then it's emulatable; wheels/haptic feedback have worked too so I've heard.
@@Stevie2049 Maybe someday I will, though it would be nice if WB Games could work with you and the community to port The Rock and 2049 to consoles or steam. For now I'll enjoy watching the stuff you've uploaded.
@@LazyIguana That would be amazing but none of the original team that brought rush to console or arcade either work for wb or work at all. I think the best possible thing that could happen would be that an ex dev leaks source code for the arcade games or the gamecube one. The version of the game I play on dolphin is something I've worked on for some time now and I need to release what I have done, it should generate some more interest in the game.
The way catch-up works in this game is pretty interesting. It seems like instead of making your car faster, it makes the entire physics engine run faster.
44:27 What just happened? It said you won 1st Place, but you were off by 0.01 seconds, dropping to 2nd Place. Other than that, great multiplayer video and what amazing races you got to do.
Yeah it generally is, especially when playing in Advanced or Extreme. You can get closer to arcade speed on the console games by unlocking better parts but it still doesn't completely match. My best lap times on Track 1 for arcade are around 45 seconds while in DC it's 48.
Stevie I never played the arcade, only the Dreamcast, which I still like very much. Though the sense of speed in the arcade seems more intense! Does the arcade play the same as Dreamcast in terms of car handling? With your Dreamcast/arcade time comparison, did you also use the cheat Super Speed? ;)
samuel bakker No didn’t use super speed. The cars are a lot grippier on arcade and extreme is very tough to handle on TE/SE. I highly recommend trying to run it on mame with a controller & deadzones set up. It’s easy to get the hang of after a bit.
Stevie one more question, since you are also familiar with Dreamcast version. There is a switch on the Metro track which I never found out what it was for, or what door/shortcut its suppose to open. It’s located at the long part where the train goes into the tunnel, just before you can go left onto the road that goes vertical al the way up. So before you go there you are on the track of the train and on the right is a wall where you can drive on. There on the top of the wall is a switch. Do you understand which one I mean? ;) any idea what it’s for..???
samuel bakker Yeah I know exactly what you’re talking about; metro forward near the trains. I’m pretty sure it was leftover from when they were doing the backwards track because it’s there when playing in reverse but it opens up one of the doors. My guess is that it’s left in but deactivated.
This is so cool! Imagine Rush being remastered with online multiplayer (even ranked)
Yeah, in 2049 it might happen LOL
@@jeffreybattthebillyhatcherboi apparently this is possible with something called parsec. looking into it...
18:12 Love the physics in Rush! It's been 20 years since I last played the arcade version.

Best coin op racer ever, I miss these arcade physics!!
This game went so hard at Mindboggle Arcade in Eastland Mall Charlotte NC 2003.....the bets that were made playing this shit.....good times

IT'S DANGEROUS!

Idk, STV is the one driving. Error on the game's part for sure though.
It also looks much faster than the Dreamcast version.
