    This is a great analysis Greg! Very thorough and thoughtful. I agree, that the wheel wells are the biggest thing to focus on. I really enjoy them but I've heard others don't (I can see why). Spot on with your ending though - try to test before you buy because everyone has their own riding style/preference

      Thanks for watching! I firmly believe the best board is the one the rider is comfortable with. Little rippers riding boards that are “too big” or tall guys on 22” Penny Boards. If it feels right, then it is right. ✌️

      @@goofyfootgreg I'll only say that if you do it, do it because you enjoy it. I've been trying hard to see if there is a way to make it into a side income and our niche market isn't really big enough (now).

      Cool. The 70mm 4President wheels were too big for me with the 1/16” shock pad that came with the setup I demoed. ✌️

    good review! i love this board cause my feet are right behind wheel wells i think this is the only way to stand well on this board. This board was elaborated with a streetskate stance but with surfskate ability that 's why it feel so snappy and fast. 70mm wheels are just to big, i change for 65mm and that's perfect! no more wheel bite. it's a peculiar surfskate: a real hybrid that works perfectly for someone who is looking for a surfskate feeling (but not as a reel surfskate), very stable and very reactive like a sport car.

      @@goofyfootgreg I am just dipping my toes into the surf skate world. I am using the Waterborne adapter with set of Indys and shark wheels. It is fun put I feel I am working pretty hard on it.
      I want to find a board that I can also skate the bowl and get slappy grinds on.

    • @goofyfootgreg
      @goofyfootgreg  2 года назад +1

      @@AdventuresInSkateboarding Good luck in your search. I’m partial to the feel of the C7s. The kingpin is tucked below the hanger which works well when grinding (mostly concrete nope-ing), but I’m not sure how well they’d hold up over time to slappys 🤔✌️

    • @AdventuresInSkateboarding
      @AdventuresInSkateboarding 2 года назад

      @@goofyfootgreg I may have to keep the Waterborne with indies for the Slaplies and find a board for more traditional Surfskating. Experimenting is part of the adventure.

    Loaded recommends Orangatang nipples (orange front, purple rear) for its CX version on their website.
    I ride this setup and with my 88 kg I am not able to create wheelbite.
    However, your board has Knuckles bushings.
    Nipples are much meatier, they resist the lean much more than the smaller and rounded knuckles.
    And if you still get the wheels on the deck with nipples, try cup washers instead of the flat washers.
    Knowing Loaded (and I have 8 Loaded boards), it's these "small" details that matter.

    • @goofyfootgreg
      @goofyfootgreg  Год назад

      Thanks for all the info. Ultimately, wheel bite wasn’t my issue, as it is just a natural result of riding loose/carve-y setups. As mentioned in the vid, the deck (specifically the front flares), felt really uncomfortable underfoot ✌️

    I had a similar problem with a Powell Ban This Cab Flight deck. Not exactly a problem with "wheel flares" but that it just has way to much concave for my liking. It's a 9.2" board. I figured I would give it a try because it looked like kind of a hybrid between old school and new school boards. It had more of a squared off nose and tail, but, it still had a decent length nose. Not liking that board at all. It made me realize that I don't like that much concave. Being a skater from the 80s, I've never been convinced that a standard Popsicle shaped board is for me. But, in this case, I found another Cab deck that is a standard Popsicle was much better. I'm going to watch out for too much concave in the future. And too much kick on the nose and tail. I feel like that board was a total waste of money for me. Especially, considering I got the Flight deck version. I just picked up a 8.75 Powell Popsicle deck and I liked it right off the bat. My feet fit on it more comfortably thn the 8.5 decks I had been skating. Less concave hitting the front and back of you feet. 8.75 may be the new size I stick with.

    The flare on the Bolsa is made for conventional trucks.

    • @goofyfootgreg
      @goofyfootgreg  2 года назад +1

      Seems like it. When I put Indys on the deck, the truck geometry seemed to line up with the flares. I didn’t confirm it by riding with standard trucks since 1) I only had a limited time with the Bolsa (I was borrowing it) and 2) I didn’t think most people who were interested in the Bolsa were purchasing it with the intention of swapping out surfskate trucks for standards. ✌️
