I'm calling it: the game is about a coup leading to Shao becoming Kahn. I like the idea of Tanya being a noble hero instead of a scheming harlot & her skills look badass but I miss her "seductive" side that made her believable as a manipulator--unless it's a trick by Netherrelm. As brief as it may be, I like the idea of seeing a non crazy Mileena. I'm kinda sad Jarrod is dead because I wanted to finally see him in the game rather than just mentioned. I hope and PRAAAAAAAY they make Baraka a relatable badass. He showed potential in MK11 with him joining Kitana's uprising & should have had him go toe to toe with Shao Kahn in Aftermath but didn't.
I really wanted to see a playable King Jerrod. They could've ripped him from his malibu comics look. But hes dead again. 😒 im just glad are getting to see more characters and plot.

I loved the original Tanya (MK4) for many reasons, one of which being she was the first black female fighter in MK, that being said I hated her Egyptian look in the following games, but now I hate her new look even more, and it has less to do with her skin color and more to do with her clothing, hair and face.

She not as dark skin as she was in MK4 so I guess they decided to go with the balance of her, just being a brown caramel that’s shocking because we have light skin Tanya for mad long. The only issue I have with her design is she doesn’t have the white eyes. That design with the white always would’ve been crazy.

Baraka isn't supposed to be pretty. He is supposed to look horrific and bad ass. Which he does. They are actually using the Tarkatan as a genetic curse so to speak like fan theoried which is cool.
Stomp was always unblockable in every game where have you been lol. Also Goro shows up infront of you before the stomp so you can probably hit him out of it. Im guessing thats the tradeoff.

I am usually a purist when it comes to comics and movies etc so I dont usually like retcons and raceswapping but MK is a franchise where I dont mind it because they always do a good job at redesign and evolving the character. Tanya being their to represent the African warrior vibe is a great choice. IDK if its just me but I think she looks a bit Blasian with the eyes. Mileena looks to me almost Pacific Islander/Polynesians. Li Mei repping the East Asians of course. The technology and graphics werent there so often they defaulted to a generic look for these characters but now that they have the tech there starting to give these characters more of an identity. The Umgadi is this worlds Amazon warriors and I am loving it.
