Oh my gosh that is super cool! I teach coding for kids. One thing that we've been looking into is trying to introduce coding to the hard of sight. Watching this is crazy inspirational and comes with a lot of good ideas! I would love to watch you do more of these in programs like Eclipse so I can see how you navigate. One of my goals is to develop a curriculum to help students write video games that they can play (that are text adventure or focus entirely on audio). Watching you through programming would be insanely helpful for me to better understand how to navigate all those lines of code without the ability to see.
I would love to do one for eclipse. I will just have to see if when navigating with jwas that the peeps watching can see what I'm doing sometimes jaws will navigate somewhere (to a window that is hidden by another window) and the sighted person can't see what I'm actually working on, but I'm sure there are ways around that.
Hello sir I know its an old comment But there are plenty of video games (text based) avaliable some of them are: choice of games and hosted games They're a role-playing text based games where you can have choices and each choice leads to a development in the story. There's also lone wolf text based game etc
This is a great video, I wouldn't be opposed to more Programming videos // Might be the only weird one here LOL Should you feel the need to post them randomly
I've tried my hand at low-level programming for several things before in multiple scripting languages including Lua, Ruby, a tiny bit of C++, C sharp, and also a little Java. One thing I worked on was a personal project of developing a sprite based role playing video game, and I know how hard programming can be even with full sight! Looking at scripts can get me cross eyed a lot of the time, so at least you don't have to worry about that, ha ha ha! Thank you for the informative and well-explained video, it was a lot of fun to watch!
Awesome video man! I can't imagine what it'd be like working with programs that are over 1,000 lines long without being able to see... What's your strategy when navigating through and working with those types of programs?
Obviously not MegaTgarrett, but I think documentation would help a lot with that. Or if there are no comments, reading just the class and method names should help picture what a program does, without having to go through the thousand lines of codes.
usually for files that big I prefer to use a IDE like eclipse so I can use the navigation by function/variable capabilities, I've done it though. definitally slower then a sighted programmer when first starting though
nice video, even though I understood litterally just about nothing you said or did, but that’s fine. :) I also think I heard the fadeout in the intro. That’s also nice, though it was not really in the place I meant. :) What I meant was a fadeout from the part in the intro you are not speaking and the music is the loudest, to the part when the music goes in to the background and you start speaking over it again. And also, interesting to know you use JAWS, I actually wanted to ask you what screanreader you use. Looking forward to the next video.
oh I know what you meant, just haven't gotten around to making that happen yet, and trying to make what I got work for now. but I want to include your input some time
MegaTgarrett Oh sorry, I thought I heard the fadeout and thought you misunderstood, but I also thought you might not actually have done it yet and I just misheard. Again, sorry for commenting that then. I didn’t mean to make it seem like you should hurry up with my suggestion or something. But yeah, I’m glad you did understand what I meant and that you want to do somehthing with it at some point. I will be patient this time. :)
h no. you are not being impacient or anything. I'm just not getting it done,so its my fault. but I hope you like the next video coming out. hopefully this afternoon
I used to program using Java. I thought it was fun at first but then it started to become complex so I gave up and pursued a career in Animation instead which is what I go to school for now. Java scripting is still very fun to watch though especially when it's coming from MegaTgarrett.
hi sir im from india tripura im astudent of class11 in arts striem and im ablind persons totaly but i want creat my life in computer .normaly im doing bca from edu smart computer education centre but i want to learn programmeing and html but there is no any persons who teach us about it so pleace tell me that which is easy way to learning programmeing and html?
Men great video thanks . I' m trying to Lear to code using a screen reader. Don't really like windows but orca is not that ease to learn. At least there is kind of hard to find I formation. I am a noob on screen reader technology. So I'm gona try to learn to use Linux like u or whit git bash.
This is so inspiring!!! I have been struggling a lot with my disability while being a coder but this is so helpful and motivating 💛

Fascinating stuff. VI was never my style, but it seems great for you. Plus it gives you that “master hacker” aesthetic haha!

Doesn't orca screen reader work on Windows' version of Ubuntu?
Hi, this video is great. Would you please show how you query a database?
Greetings friend this is very much appreciated
