Throttle body plug is broken and I'd change the EGR while the engine is out and the heat exchanger on the oil filter housing for peace of mind the seal goes and mixes oil and water.
Unless the original snapped, and they stuck on a new one just to see if it would run. If not, then they stick it on a pallet and sell it to some unsuspecting mug. Lol.
you seem to have got a good buy with this engine. Surely it would be better to replace the injectors to save issues as you are uncertain the existing one have a uncertain history. I accept there is a cost but surely that will save time at the end of the day rather than putting the old ones in and finding they are no good and wasting more time fitting new ones.
Good progress. Can I recommend Poole Diesel on Ringwood Road who can carry out a basic functional test on your injectors since you have serviced them to ensure you have a good spray pattern, as it looks like all the pistons on the old engine had started to suffer. Also, depending what your injector service includes, they may need new calibration codes to be assigned and then programmed into the ECU.
Poole Diesel ripped me off big time! The Father was a brilliant guy but the son is a waste of time! He charged me £400 for "overhauling" a CAV pump off an old tractor but it still had a miss-fire. The Camshaft inside the pump was so badly worn it wasn`t even putting fuel of of the elements! In the end I had to go to P B Asher in Southampton who built up one pump out of two for me! I`m not the only one who`s had a poor job from P.D. and I haven`t heard a good word said about them for a long time.
thankyou Paul,this has been a brilliant project,,👍👍
Looking great Paul cambelt looked good strange they didn’t do the aux belt😂 can’t wait to see that first drive of the van
Good job Paul, better you than me, i prefer to watch fitting engines then doing them myself.

The new en😊gine looks more like a blue wheelie bin, think you've been done 0:15 0:14
Glad the engine replacement went your way.
Falling off a truck is rather rare…
Falling off a back of a lorry, not so rare. 🙂
