As a former enlisted guy and officer Kevin is so utterly spot on. The work they do should be supported at all levels. From guys like us sending them some $ to hopefully governments.
A cause is great. Having the means and a clear head to identify issues and efficiently act upon them, to transform them into lessons learned, in a durable and constructive way... that's a way to reach any goals!
Kevin's work is spot on the board. Too often overlooked are the ones that makes the huge positive effects with simple shared common experiences. God Bless and Go Ukraine!
Kevin is correct. Good training leads to better leaders and the system evolves from that. Passing promotional courses ensures that the person is ready for the next stage and challenges. In contrast...getting untrained people to attack a position without a clue and no leadership ...thats what is known as the "meat wave"... very costly and ineffective. Great report 👏
Another fantastic interview... great respect for Kevin... I have to wonder if Aleksandr Syrskyi as CIF of AFU is paying dividends given 1) he was born in RU; 2) his training was @ RU military academy and 3) I heard his parents still live in RU... from Ontario, Canada, Slava Ukraïni!
I hear he's the "best" of the worst... Also, Zelenskyy needs someone to maintain leadership, a "recognized" leadership over the rest of old soviet guard... complicated. Zelenskyy announced a "deep reorganization of Ukrainian army"...
I have often thought about "dieing for my country" or at least "dieing for a good cause'. But, looking at British military history, I wonder what the chances are of dieing in vain because somebody screwed up.
Shooting without correcting the scope or centering the shots is pointless. Shooting requires finding a target accurately, not just making a lot of noise. I saw a video where the sights weren't set for good aiming. 🤦 Instructors need to get every weapon properly sighted or it's literally a waste. 😳
Western countries base their training primarily on training manuals. These manuals are written based upon past experience. The Ukraine war is a complete new experience where the procedures are being adapted and amended on the ground in real time. Western allies and NATO would be well advised to listen to the people on the ground and adapt training accordingly. Not just for the benefit to Ukraine but also to get up to speed on new methods and techniques. The military , generally, are very conservative and don't adapt or change quickly. That's why even in the Ukrainian army there are probably still many officers trying to use old Soviet tactics. The Russians themselves are a victim of their own tactics and strategies which has been clearly demonstrated in this war by their huge losses in both equipment and manpower.
I just watched Paul Warburg and he points out why Ukraine is recruiting and why the age of recruitment is higher. Males don't get the frontal lobes in their brains fully functioning until 25-27. Up until then they don't assess risk or danger competently. Ukraine wants their people to be educated. Men and women. That's going to make a far better future and country for all Ukranian people now and in the future. Russia puts teenagers into military training, doesn't educate them past basics, and has a command structure based on who knows who up the lines of influence. This difference is stark. Ukraine DOES have the people, but it's the EQUIPMENT that's lacking, from chest armour to weapons, even socks.
nothing Russia is experiencing is due to the age of their soldiers. 18 year olds can be very effectively trained into soldiers. Why ever Ukraine is choosing to fight with middle age me(and the russians are doing exactly the same thing) it is not to do with effectiveness.
The problem with the calculation of not wanting to fight due to incompetent commanders is that you work with what you have, not what you want, in a time of existential war. Get in there or don't expect aid from us. This isn't a choice, a luxury, you either fight or get taken over.
You sound like you're from one of the countries that was supposed to protect Ukraine, from exactly what's happening now. Return the effing nukes and then you can dictate to Ukrainians how to fight russians, dickhead.

Much respect from Canuckistan.

And you should know it takes years to accomplish that. They had 3 years of doing it. They didn't
Thanks so much for creating and sharing this informative interview. Great job. Keep it up.

Great report 👏
It's very costly yes, but plenty of Ukrainians would disagree that it's ineffective. A disgusting way to fight but russians simply don't care.
Great stream thank you
Thank you, Jonathan & Kevin.
Your efforts are priceless.
❤️🇺🇦 From Indonesia.

But also much of the fighting is into treelines where you can't see the enemy anyway, or else it's literally feet or metres away in a trench.
This explains me why their military bought Hatsan BTS-12’s and not quality and reliability. I hope this gentleman can help them.
Slava 🇺🇦 one comment:
Training and resting do not mix. 1 doing 2 rebuild rest .. 3 training .. then back to 1.

I like Paul but his reasoning was ridiculous on this point.
